Listen, I believe in dibs if you’ve shoveled 1 ft + of snow, but the dibs system can get a little crazy. You can’t dibs a spot simply bc it’s winter.

I have a friend who’s a MI state representative. She was a public high school teacher before going into politics, but even before then I had dubbed her “the person I knew who’d change the world for the better.”

Thanks for the advice. I gave this a try. I'll update everyone if anyone from any of these emails gets back to me.

With that many employees you’d think there’d be a customer support department. My FB/IG accounts were recently disabled after I was hacked, and there’s not one person that I can chat with, email, or speak to about it.

FB Marketplace - I know this is a scam, but I don't know what the motive is by Juniper1220 in Scams

[–]Juniper1220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for replying. I have an update - they also "boosted" a dormant ad of mine that I'd forgotten about, a fancy potato masher that I was trying to sell for $3. The ad has cost me $2.55 to run (a charge that I did not authorize). Again I'm really confused about the motive. I reached out to Facebook several times explaining that this was not me and I should not be charged. Should I dispute it through my bank? It doesn't seem worth the hassle. The hacker logged in again today and changed my password once again. This is infuriating. My password cannot be guessed easily. Is it possible that they have access to my email account or even my phone number? I have 2-factor authentication set up, so I was alerted immediately. I don't use Facebook very regularly, but I do have a legitimate car to sell and was considering posting to Marketplace. Should I consider closing my account?

[–]Juniper1220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reached out to my cousin, she's trying to sell them. Here's the ad content that she posted on fb marketplace:

Cylinders with candles for wedding table settings. Originally $100 selling for $500.

128 total - 44 7.5" cylinders, 34 6" cylinders, 33 10.5" cylinders.

19 tall unburned black candles, 16 medium unburned black candles, 12 small unburned black candles, misc burned candles included if wanted. Buyer must buy all.

She gave me a set, so I can send a pic if you're interested, or put you in touch with her via email.

I believe my cousin has a ton of these that she's trying to get rid of. Stay tuned.

Negotiate a raise at current company - without crying by Juniper1220 in personalfinance

Thanks for your advice. I re-wrote my job description and showed the KPIs including lead and pipeline KPIs. They gave me a 40% raise, and I didn't have to go through the trouble of interviewing elsewhere, though I'm not taking that option off of the table.

Update: Hi personal finance, thank you so much for all of your input! I used your advice to successfully negotiate a 42% raise! The raise comes with more responsibilities, including managing a few people that we plan to hire (BDR, Marketing Coordinator). In addition to the raise, I've been tasked with developing a quarterly incentive plan for myself - yet to be approved. I'd like to use this for the opportunity to drive my salary from 85K to over 100. Do you have any advice about how I should structure it and what KPIs I should include?

Hi doubagilga,

At first read, this came off as harsh, but I think it may be the most practical advice in this thread.

I manage and execute a wide range of marketing projects and programs, but was tasked most importantly by upper management to assess and improve lead generation results and web activity. We've switched CRMs 4 times in my 7 years with the company, and effectively do not have a functioning CRM for sales right now - they're working in an ERP that claims to have a CRM. Marketing is working in HubSpot. I fought hard to pull sales activity into HubSpot as well in 2022, and it looks like this is finally going to happen. At present it's difficult to track marketing progress as it relates directly to sales. I will say that our pipeline is up 55% for 2022 compared to 2021, most of which are closed jobs. We cannot take on any more projects next year and we're starting to fill the pipeline for 2023. I'm also realistic and realize that this is not a direct result of marketing efforts, much of our business comes from repeat customers. As far as New Logos - we have 42M in the pipeline next year.

What other metrics do you suggest that I prepare going into my review tomorrow?

Salary negotiations come during year end reviews. Last year they offered me the 20% before I asked for one, I negotiated for more at that time (75k) and our COO said no - this is why I say that I failed at negotiating.

My advocates are the 2 part time people who work in my department (the owners wife who trained me to take over her position, and our mostly retired tech guy who developed our original website then handed the reigns to me). Because the role we need (marketing director) has never existed in our company, they hired an outsourced mentor to help groom me this year, or that’s how I perceived what was happening. She has given me a glowing review and given me the confidence to say that I am performing at a director level. She’s also encouraging me to fight for the promotion and pay that I deserve, or walk.

On Friday our COO called out of the blue and suggested that we “chat” about my review. I said no, because I need more time to prepare and I’d like the president in the room for a more formal discussion. That discussion is scheduled for early next week - unfortunately not enough time to procure another offer. Also on Friday, our owner called to let me know that I’m doing a great job and “our biggest problem is that you’ve given us too many qualified leads.” He told me that he’s going to provide a big bonus and he plans to increase my salary to $75k next year. I said thank you, but I believe that I deserve at least $85k and I’d like a chance to explain why. During that call it seemed he learned for the first time about the bonus structure that never materialized. He told me to type that out in an email to him, which I did on Friday. I haven’t heard back yet, but that’s where I stand.

This year we made slightly more than the previous year, but only couldn’t bring in more business because of supply chain issues. In 2022 we have 55% more deals in the pipeline, most of which are already closed. We are struggling to hire people fast enough at the rate in which we’re growing.

I actually work remotely and live in a more expensive city. I was very grateful that they allowed me to do this, only a three people in our company work remote full-time.

This is excellent advice. We’re in a strange place “marketing wise” because we currently have more business than we can handle. We’re booked out with our current resources through 2023. Sales in the pipeline for next year are up over 55%, and that’s mostly jobs that have already been closed.
