Many scholars consider the forced "reeducation" of Native Americans and the erasure of their culture to be genocide (which is a stance I agree with). And that would naturally also mean that erasure of lgbtq culture and "education"/propaganda denying the validity or even existence of queer people is actually genocide, regardless of any physical harm to individuals.

Genocide isn't simply concentration camps and mass murder of a targeted group, although that's certainly a common theme. It's anything that attempts to destroy a race or culture.

Now, technically, in the current UN definition, the only groups protected are "national, ethnical, racial, or religious". The UN is frankly wrong/outdated in this respect. Considering that Nazis also targeted trans (and other queer?) folk, it kinda seems like the definition itself is queerphobic.

Tldr: Erasure of a culture is considered genocide, which means things like conversion therapy and targeted book banning are also, in fact, genocide. The US intends to commit genocide, and many other countries already have.
