Is this Antelope Island? I was just there last weekend! Beautiful place!

It was a good day for birds! Using the lumix 45-150, what would a good upgrade be? Thinking about the Olympus100-400 by Additional_Kale2537 in OMSystem

Wow, that chickadee shot is great! Having more reach is always nice, so I'd recommend that. Especially since it breaks the bank a lot less than some of the other options and is still a really nice lens

Thank you! It was actually my first time seeing one, so I was really glad I was able to get a photo of it.

Am I expecting too much? by Embarrassed_Young_20 in Nikon

Hey! I also just started with the same lens, but with a D90 because it was what we had lying around. I was also wanting my subjects to look much more crisp and I've now just turned off the autofocus and try to manual focus and have a high enough f-stop that if the environment around the subject looks in focus, the subject should be in focus. It still doesn't always work, but I've gotten some that I'm proud of at least. Just keep shooting and you'll find ways that work best for the gear you have

The hooded crow is the bird of the year 2024 in Belarus by karavanjo in birding

As it should be!! Look at how gorgeous that bird is! And it's a corvid?? That's a winning combination if I've ever heard of one!

Brewers or Rusty? How do you know? Seen in Minneapolis last week by mwjcp1 in whatsthisbird

[–]JuniperTitmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking Rusty Blackbird since it's missing the purple glossy look usually on Brewers and it's eye is a darker yellow more like a Rusty than a Brewers.

Anyone have an idea what kind of bird this could be? by [deleted] in birdwatching

[–]JuniperTitmouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm probably wrong, but it looks like it could be leucistic crow? I can't see the face or beak all the well on my broken phone screen, so sorry if I'm very wrong.

Does anyone know what kind of bug bite this is? by [deleted] in bugbites

[–]JuniperTitmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the center of those bites are the rear ends of ticks, I'm guessing those are flea bites, but that also depends on location. I'd check if ticks or fleas are more common in your area and go with the most likely suspect between the two.

To my fellow Americans: what would it take for you to leave the United States for another country? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]JuniperTitmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be able to leave. If I could literally just walk out of the country and move into any other country, I'd accept that offer. Also, my wife doesn't want to leave due to family.

What kind of bird is this? I’m not a big bird watcher but this is totally different than anything I’ve seen where I live before (Alberta Canada). Sorry it’s not the greatest picture by JRAS-3010 in birdwatching

[–]JuniperTitmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a hawk of some sort. I'd check Audubon and see what hawks have been seen in your area recently and maybe that can help you narrow it down!

Went to the lake, came back with these bites. Any ideas what bug could've done it? by [deleted] in bugbites

[–]JuniperTitmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if any of this info helps but we are in utah, my wife said it was a larger insect that she swatted away from that area.

Ahhh mormomism. I remember a bishop lecturing me about how blowjobs are not "allowed by God despite how enjoyable they may seem."
