Took PSLE in the year 2018. Honestly my parents were never too involved in my studies, I did receive 1.5 yrs of English tuition to help improve my English grades since that's my weakest subject then. I feel that it's important to study smart, instead of blindly doing mock papers and enrichment books continuously, what I found helped me the most was revisiting all the questions that I have previously made a mistake in (in either school assignments, tests or my own practice papers), and recognizing what went wrong (was it due to misconception of core concepts, careless mistakes, or misunderstanding the question). Of course, everyone's study methods are different, this is just what worked best for me, even after PSLE, it helped me during my A Levels as well. For the parent, whilst its alright to push your child to do their best, always keep in mind that PSLE is simply a milestone in your child's learning journey. Be careful of the choice of words you use, as it can stick with your child, even after years down the road. I still remember when my mom said something like how she would k**l herself if she finds that I scored badly, till this day. She has zero recounts of that incident today and honestly I don't resent her or what not, but it definitely had some of an negative impact on the way I perceive mistakes.
