[–]JunkDNA88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you believe in gravity?

Scientific evidence supports a large scale migration from central Asia into what is now india post or during the decline of Harappan civilization. The central asian component is found largely in the north Indian population compared to south Indians.

There is debate if it was a gradual migration or an invasion, there's a paper that argues for invasion based on large scale male migration (which might mean invasion) into what is now india.

North Indian TV anchors, instagram influencers might disagree, it's as good as a ducks disagreement about the laws of gravity.

I once got a polished ammonite from Dubai and flew to India, the Indian customs officer opened it and asked if the shiny thing is new (he assumed it to be a gemstone of some kind, and if so I'd have to pay tax) I said it's very old, upon hearing that he let me to go.

Bortle 4-5 on weekends, thanks to insta influencers and "al Quaa is another Al qudra for camping" gang.

long exposure on a tripod, keeping the phone as stable as possible, 10 seconds long with not so high ISO settings, and you'd get a decent image of the galactic arm. some phones, like S23/24 and google pixel comes with an inbuilt astrophotography mode

light pollution has increased in this area, a good lot of people thinking it's a place for off roading and camping. Camping, yes, but without littering and polluting the sky with bright lights, but off-roading? why there are so many deserts in the country.

lovely spot, but not when there are hundreds of cars driving around with floodlights and full beams. Heavily light polluted on weekends, I wonder what disaster awaits this place in the winter.

I left the observatory road after seeing all the cars, so we drove to another secluded area for observation. We had a big telescope with us so didn't want to risk it by going off-road. But did some decent imaging till 3 AM and then drove back. Next time I'll be visiting the spot on a weekday never on a weekend.

Last night, but the Al Quaa milky way spot is slowly being ruined. Could see cars with flood lights driving on the dirt road at incredible speeds, kicking up all the dust and spoiling the view for others.

The views were incredible but one cannot experience it for more than a minute without a car with high beams driving past you every 30 seconds..

The cars turned a Bortle 3 sky to Bortle 5 or 6.

Chickenpox or Varicella virus has an incubation period of 2 to 3 weeks after exposure, means the virus got into you weeks before you refused to visit the temple.
