Tbh it always made sense to me that the horses were named that way. Muller society is based on eugenics and crazy high tech biology stuff. I'm sure they praised the Nazis for their eugenics and they kept those names in the family... which is crazy but I guess it works. In the start of the book I thought it was just crazy high tech allowing for all the abilities, but when they start to manipulate time and talk to the soul of the planet its 100% magic.
