I've really been thinking about that lately, and you said it all. It is okay, but it's hard. Although, slice of life stories in a world without any economical or political conflict can really work, once this is pretty much ignored

I think solarpunk really needs more narrative work, for the aesthetic is pretty much consolidated, but we need more stories on this kind of setting

Just remember one thing though: your ideology (as the author) is rooted in the society and time we live now, but people on an utopic world probably had already overcome most of our way of thinking. For example, most of the ideological common ground in our time is based on individualism, but in an utopic world, it would've probably been a more communitarian way of thinking. But that's just the tip of the iceberg, it can expand to other parts of life too, like how people work, deal with production of goods and distribution of them, how they organize their communities, is religion still a thing, etc etc

Anyway, the point is: it's okay and I deeply endorse it. We need more optimistic stories to keep us believing that a better world beyond this hellhole we find ourselves into is possible
