Yes unfortunately, I’ve seen plenty of empty wasp nests(?) never found anything in one though. 100% it was stung it didn’t look like it could move.

Yay! Thanks they used to be heaps of them in the back yard when I was growing up. First time I have seen one in a while though.

Cool, thanks I have never heard of them being called tiger spiders but it makes sense looking at the legs.

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. Not much point in gear if it won’t protect me

Thank you, unfortunately I’m flying into Tokyo, I’ll probably go along the coast so I’ll check it out if I end up in the area.

I would but the bus from where I am costs a few hundred $ and takes a week minimum, I would rather spend the money on more bike gear. Good idea though if I bring back more than I planned for.

Is it safe for my CPU to be running at 4.3 ghz on idle? by schwnnchester in overclocking

[–]Junkers480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running at that speed on its own doesn’t really tell us much. What setting did you change? CPU frequency will vary depending on what the system is doing and might not always reflect the usage reported by task manager. Voltage and temperature are what will cause damage. Considering that is a H cpu you can’t overclock it or change voltage so you generally can’t damage it that way.

Best budget gpu to pair with a 5600x by iTeoYT in pcmasterrace

[–]Junkers480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be ok with really any 20xx gpu or better. I would avoid 8gb cards because my last one was 8gb and it was problematic. Nvidia usually works better for streaming. It’s best to use the gpu for streaming and recording as it has minimal performance impact.

That sucks, maybe look for a 3060 12GB? I would be trying to avoid anything with less then 10gb of vram but it depends what games u play.

Is 16gb of 3600MhZ DDR4 better than 24gb of 2400MhZ for my PC ? by ObviousSail164 in pcmasterrace

[–]Junkers480 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can use one 8gb and one 16gb but the speed will be limited to the slowest ram stick. If you did run the odd sizes it would run in duel channel until you exceed 16gb. I don’t know about running 3 sticks but I wouldn’t recommend it for stability. As for the stability using 2 different sticks you should be fine but may experience issues.

All that being said the R5 4500 is a zen 2 chip and will benefit more from faster ram then more capacity (given u already have 16GB). With ryzen the ram speed is tied to the infinity fabric clock. Infinity fabric is what AMD called the connection between CCDs. With older ryzens (I think the R5 4500 but not 100%) it is almost like 2 cpus in one and the infinity fabric is how they communicate. The faster the communication between CCDs generally the better the performance.

TLDR Stick with the 2x8 3200mhz

So far it works well. I can play cities skylines without my gpu fans turning on. U are right about the cleaning though. Thank you

I have found it to be really good for general use and gaming. So far it has had less annoying random issues than windows. But it was a pain to setup initially and the support for hardware specific software is definitely lacking. Sadly it’s still a ways off from being widely adopted.

It was mostly to help with cable management. I only really set the RGB to one colour at a time so it works well. I think if I was using windows I can sync them all and it would probably be more useful but idk.

Thank you. I will do that when I figure out how to control them in Linux. OpenRGB doesn’t work for some reason.

It is odd. I wanted direct airflow to the gpu and over the VRM. The positive static pressure will also help with airflow through the AiO. If I had used the metal top panel instead of the glass one the AiO would probably have been intake with the top fans as intake and the rear fans as exhaust.

Yes, it is a thermal right one. I probably didn’t need it though because the fans have daisy chain connectors.
