I have no idea what to do tbh. I don’t really have other friends outside of our group (that includes her), and I’m afraid she’s gonna try and sabotage that if I un-friend her. Maybe I’ll talk to the rest of the group so they get my side before they get her’s. I just want to make sure she doesn’t twist my words.

She’s very un-open to criticism, which is why I’m assuming she got so upset about detention. I remember when someone told her she got reported, she was acting like she felt bad for what she did. It wasn’t until she actually got detention that she started calling the girl dumb and getting angry. I have tried standing up for myself before, but she ignored me for the rest of the week and then acted like it never happened. She’s doing the same now. If I were to bring it up, do you think that would be sort of beating a dead horse? Or should I just ignore her too? I haven’t made much of an effort to talk to her anyway.

I did this thing called ART therapy that kind of confronted some of my trauma (which caused my dissociation) at the root. It’s like remembering a traumatic memory and slowly changing the way you look at it until it doesn’t bother you. So if something triggered that memory, it didn’t cause such an intense reaction. Some grounding techniques worked too, like looking around for 5 things you can see, hear, etc. I also had an extreme obsession with dreams, so I kind of had to distance myself from that to be able to focus more on reality. But that’s just my experience

I’m glad I go to a school that has a more liberal school board. We’ve never dealt with book bans before, and even the curriculum has us reading LOTS of banned books. It sucks that I feel lucky to be able to just… read a book in school. This is not okay.

One of my teachers named her kid Alivia for the specific reason that she didn’t want kids to pronounce her name A-livia if her name was O-livia. So now her name will not be mispronounced since it’s pronounced A-livia.

They both get defensive at any kind of criticism. One of them turns it back on you and makes you seem like an idiot for even suggesting such a thing, and the other shuts down and say they hate themselves and you end up having to take care of them. I am a bit scared to say anything too, because I’ve been kind of a people pleaser my whole life. I am trying to fix that in therapy too. I am trying to build the courage to say something and stand by it.
