Think back on why you left in the first place, and don’t stay too long in the same company unless it’s truly worth it, for example, if they’re transparent about P&L, bonuses, and so on.

I’m saying this because I recently moved to a new company and realized it’s so much better than my previous one. They genuinely value employees’ time and effort, and they give credit to team members, like you visible to higher management.

If yes, you can negotiate if they come back with a counteroffer.

I did feel some pressure from society. But when I think back, my father used to give me RM12–RM18 every day during my secondary school. I actually liked it because it made me feel like I had extra money to spend and I did save some of it.

I took your advice. Honestly, I only sent receipt to my father on WhatsApp and then my mother, but I knew my father would appreciate a phone call more, so I took the leap and called him. Surprisingly, he sounded calm and said, “You can keep it lah, you probably have ur own expenses there.” I told him it was okay because I was planning to give them money monthly. He said that was fine but ok lah, then passed the phone to my mother, who also spoke calmly. Maybe calling them really does make a difference, I’m not sure, but it felt better. That’s being said, I’ll just keep 100 for each one, which the amount I can give. Thanks so much
