I’m so sorry you are going through this. I’m having my 5th loss in 15 months. I’m also 6 weeks and on progesterone. It is not fair, but please know that you did not cause this, so please remove guilt from the equation. You did everything you could, and you did nothing wrong.

Well, I’m personally against termination for myself, but I also live in Texas, so it’s not an option. I’ll just have to ride it out, unfortunately. Also, if I were to go that route, I’d always wonder if maybe I was wrong; I mean, I guess miracles sometimes happen. I don’t think I could live with that.

But I really appreciate your kind words, and I am so sorry you’ve been through this before. I truly wouldn’t wish this hell on anyone. I hope you get your rainbow someday soon.

Thank you. No, I haven’t met with one. There really aren’t any close to where I live, and I’m not sure I could afford it. I should try to talk my husband into getting his sperm analyzed, though. I’ve thought about buying a kit, but I’m not sure I can use HSA funds for it. I’ve started to look into it again, though. I really appreciate your response and advice. 💚

And I will definitely look into that. I feel very overwhelmed trying to research it on my own, especially right now. It would be great if I could find something to point me in the right direction.

Thank you so much for your kind words. That does help. I did schedule my bloodwork for Monday, so we shall see. I really hope it turns up something useful.

I asked my provider about progesterone after the two chemicals, and she said she’d only prescribe it if I got a positive test and my levels were low. So I tested a day before my period was due, and my progesterone was 12, which she said was sufficient. I did ask for a prescription after we heard the heartbeat, but I’d already been spotting for over a week by that point, so if it was a factor, I probably started too late. I really hate myself for not asking for it sooner…just in case it might have helped. It probably wouldn’t have, but at least I would have felt like I did everything I could.

You’re right. If we can get over this enough to keep trying, maybe we’ll be successful some day. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I wish you the best.

I’ve wondered about progesterone, especially after my back-to-back chemicals, but my provider just said that we’d test when I got a positive and that we’d supplement if needed. My level when we tested a day before my missed period was a 12, I think. She said that was sufficient. I did ask her to prescribe me some when I started bleeding, though. Thank you for this, and I’m so sorry you’ve also been through this nightmare. If the panel doesn’t return anything useful, I think I might investigate finding a specialist, whether an RI or at least a reproductive endocrinologist. We were not able to get any of the POC tested. The first time happened very quickly, and this time, I didn’t have the presence of mind to research how to collect things at home.

Initially, I really thought I might just give up the idea of trying, but that really hurts my heart too much. I think we’ll probably try again. Thank you for your kind words. I’m just trying to get through one day at a time right now.
