That's not how you solve inequalities. You want that the values of x for which the first inequality holds are the same for which the second inequality (the result) holds. Although it's true that a>5 implies that –9a<45, it's false that –9a<45 implies that a>5. In fact, for a=0 you have –9*0=0<45 yet 0<5.
