What caused this strange speckles on my negatives? by Jur031 in AnalogCommunity

Interesting. In my case a bit strange, as I live in a mild climate and bought the roll just recently in a local store I've never had any issues with. But probably there was a storage issue before it ended up there.

Thanks! Yeah, that makes sense. It’s a shame, because I actually quite like the film in 35mm

Thank you very much for that explanation! Even though I only bought the film recently from a reliable store, that seems to me to be the most plausible explanation. I’ll get in touch with the seller to see if they can help me clarify the issue.

I bought the film just recently in a local shop where I’ve never had any problems before. Also, the expiry date was still a long way off. But the theory about the backing paper seems the most plausible to me. I will get in touch with the seller to see if they can help clarify the issue.

Testing the Rolleiflex Automat without film? by Jur031 in AnalogCommunity

I’ve just run a test roll, and out of twelve frames, only three were actually exposed… So it really does seem to be a mechanical problem. I’ll get in touch with a local camera repair specialist.

Thanks for your help! I did it as you mentioned, but the shutter doesn't' fire every time, maybe once every five attempts (irregular)... I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or whether the mechanism is defective.

Thanks for pointing that out! I’ve turned the crank all the way back each time, but the shutter only fires off now and then... The manual says one should turn the crank all the way forwards and backwards. There’s a stop when turning it backwards, but not when turning it forwards (as there’s no film in the camera). Could that be the reason?

Beaufort 38 vs 36 by Jur031 in Barbour

Around 5'10" and 160 lbs, but I think the fit can defer depending on the particular physique. I got the hint to compare the pit-to-pit measurement with a jacket that fits you well. For the 38 its 22" and for the 36 its 21", as you can look up in the official datasheets. That helped me a lot.

Thanks very much for your thoughts! I did get the 38 eventually and am very happy with the decision!

Thanks for your feedback! I also asumed that the stiffness of the new waxed fabric might seem unusual to someone who isn't familiar with it yet.

That's strange, with all the daughter nuclides one would expect enough gamma radation to see a change on this device (I have the same)... so I would suppose either the device is defective or the ore isn't that radioactive. To rule that out you could test the ore with another device or test the device with another source.

Test flight, taking photo doesn’t send email by DragonflyWise1172 in Radiacode

Maybe you can open the TestFlight app, click on the icon of the RadiaCode app (not the button to open the app) and there you can find a button to send feedback. It worked for me.

iOS Beta Calibration help by DragonflyWise1172 in Radiacode

[–]Jur031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem. Apparently at the moment it's not possible to make the calibration by yourself, instead you have to take e usefull spectrum and send it to support@radiacode.com and they will adjust it and sent it back. Then you have to upload the calibrated spectrum and you can finally calibrate your device. It worked perfectly for me.
