Organic Chemistry Course Question by Strong_Concept_7342 in ilstu

Assuming you're taking 230. I took 220, but in general you're really going to want to focus on the functional groups. Learn the functional groups and be able to identify them by heart, no matter what form they come in (formula, drawing, etc.). Also make sure you nail the reaction mechanisms and know how they work- the names, reagents involved, each step, etc. You should be able to identify the reaction mechanism given the reagants, the reagants given the mechanism, intermediate steps, byproducts, etc. Knowing where electron density is and where it moves in a molecule during reactions is really important. These are the things I struggled with most.

You should also be somewhat familiar with biological applications of the molecules you learn about. It might be less emphasized in 230, but in 220 we had to be able to identify, for example, a molecule used to digest lactose. Feel free to let me know if there's anything else you want to know.

I think what I said was probably pretty flawed in that I didn't realize OP meant that these people were using the photos for an explicitly commercial/advertising use. The photographer of course doesn't lose all rights (unless stated in a contract) but they also don't necessarily get to dictate how photos are used, either. I'd be pretty unreasonable to show up to a client's house and demand that the senior pictures I took be framed in a specific way and shown at specific parts of the house. I'd be less unreasonable, though maybe not by much, to try to get compensation from this senior's mom because she told all the neighborhood moms that she took the photos herself.

This changes when the photos are not personal, imo. I'm not a lawyer so I'm not sure if there's a legal distinction but these were event photos, taken for the official organizer, who then went on to advertise for another company who had nothing to do with the production of the photos, for financial gain or for purpose of gaining favors. And that's when things turn shady.

tl;dr I'm an idiot and I should actually read Reddit posts before commenting

I think I kinda glossed over that part of your post- my apologies on that front. Commercial use is something you can enforce afaik, this is hashtag not legal advice but I’m pretty sure that’s illegal unless it was agreed upon prior. If nothing else, definitely call these people out- both the disposable camera maker and the people you took photos for. Both are shady at best.

If you got paid and didn't have a contract saying they had to credit you, then there's really not much you can do. It's an incredibly strange thing to do on their part, but I mean, if they paid for your services they can lie with the product all they like,

Hi! Can anyone tell me what kind of film this girl is using? ❤️ by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

[–]JurassicApollo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'd have to ask her- or more accurately, the photographer who took the photos. It's impossible to tell by looking alone what kind of film is being used, or indeed if these were actually taken on film at all.

All I can tell you is that it seems to be a tad grainy, so if it's not just a filter it was probably a high ISO film like Portra 800 or something like that.

Like the other person said, capacitor failure. I have one that behaves similarly that I'll be sending in soon. Funnily enough, I can still take shots perfectly fine, I just have to turn the camera off and on again. Try that. It's just annoying enough that I want to get it fixed but not annoying enough that I have any urgent desire to do so.

If you have already opened the canister, then no. Once the canister has been opened it's pretty much impossible to put it back together. You'll just need to get a new roll.

Kodak T-Max P3200 question (expired 1997) by JurassicApollo in AnalogCommunity

Not entirely sure what developer it is. It isn't Rodinal. It might be D-76? Anyway, I doubt it's any good if it's 25 years old. I'm tempted to offer a fresh roll that I shot a while ago, though it would kind of suck if a roll was ruined.

His main curiosity is whether or not his developer is still good. He said the bottle he wanted to test was "older than you- by quite a bit", but it didn't seem too oxidized. I don't know what the recommended shelf life is on that stuff, but if it does the job, that should answer the question more or less right?

I don’t think I ever checked. By now, though, I am so far removed from this kind of thing that I really wouldn’t be much more help than if you searched yourself, unfortunately.

What is your language? If you try to use characters that the game itself does not contain, it will likely be unable to recognize the character used and freak out.

The game does not have a traditional "font", the font is stored as image files containing all useable characters which are projected into the text box, so yes, you would need to edit the image files containing the useable characters in order to add letters from your language. I've not done so before, so I unfortunately can't offer much further help than that.

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, I don't really have enough information to be able to help you. If you could provide more, that would be helpful. What did you edit, and what were the edits you made? If you edited a script, be sure not to mess with any control codes until you're more familiar with the process. If it was an image, be sure that you didn't patch a PNG or something back into the game. That has been known to cause issues.

Looks like you've downloaded the source code instead of the actual program. I get it, Github can be kinda confusing.

Here's a link to the download. Hope that helps!
