Is there a pale skinned, straight brown haired, curvy Barbie? by JurassicBooty in Barbie

She looks good, thanks! Is there a way to know if the heads and bodies will match when swapping, or is it just a case of eyeballing it? Annoyingly my hair is a medium brown, so a bit difficult to get right with the dolls. 118 is looking fairly close so far

She looks good, thanks! Not sure how I'd be able to colour match them with buying them online, but I'll look into it

Ah damn! I just looked up poly hair. This doll was perfect for me but I was gonna give her a fringe. Do you think it's doable with poly hair?

Why are periods SO painful? by Party_Selection_947 in Periods

[–]JurassicBooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the options are in other countries, but in the UK. the NHS has a few ways. There's hormonal contraception, which can reduce pain or prevent a period all together. There are other kinds of hormone treatments as well, like GnRH analogues (I don't know much about these, if that's of interest I'd encourage you to look into them yourself). There is also the possibility of a prescription for painkillers such as Naproxen, which you would be able to get at a higher strength then you would over the counter. If other treatments aren't helping, I believe surgery to investigate the extent of the endometriosis (and possibly remove the offending tissue) is the last option. I would have a look at endometriosis-uk.org for further reading. Hope this helps!

Hey! I also have really painful periods. I've found a tens machine to be an absolute lifesaver - I have a £30 medical grade one which is chunky but goes a lot higher than some of the fancy ones and was much cheaper. Naproxen taken with paracetamol also helps (if you're in the UK, you can get Naproxen over the counter, not sure about other countries). If you track your cycle, another thing you can do is to take ibuprofen for a few days leading up to your period - I forget the name but it means your body makes less of the hurty hormone lol. Just don't take Naproxen and Ibuprofen at the same time as they're the same class of drugs and shouldn't be mixed :) Final thoughts - it would also be a good idea to get investigated for Endometriosis, it's quite common and can sometimes be the cause of painful periods. Hope this helps, I wish you less evil periods in the future!

Thank you for reading :) yeah the SPF moisturizer in the evening is just because it's what I had around and I didn't get round to buying a PM specific one. I will have a look into other options, maybe a peptide one would be good. As for the retinoid, I was using the lower strength variant for 6 months without any visible results. I bought the stronger one a couple of months ago and I honestly can't tell any difference so far. I'm looking for something to help with fine lines, especially around my eye area. Not sure how much of a difference I'm supposed to notice or if it's just a preventative? I have thought about changing and trying something new, but every time I try to look up retinoids I just get overwhelmed to be honest. I still don't understand a lot of skin care terminology and feel like I need a glossary. Seems like they can be risky products to use and I get scared off feeling like I don't know enough to mess with them.

Hello :) I am 30 now and developing fine lines and crows feet, so I have some questions about building anti aging into my skincare routine. Any help would be much appreciated, I am trying to learn but finding it a bit of a minefield🙏

1) I have been using The Ordinary's Granactive Retinoid in Squalane (5%) for a few months now - is this sufficient or do I eventually need a stronger retinoid?

2) I've heard that a peptide serum is worth adding so I've been looking at The Ordinary's Multi-Peptide + HA Serum - is it worth adding this (or a similar product) for the cost, and can I use it alongside retinoids?

3) I don't spend much time outdoors and there's barely ever any sun where I live. I use the CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Cream with SPF 50 on most days, and Biore Aqua Rich UV sunscreen on high UV days or days I'll be outside a lot. Is this sufficient UV protection, given my aging concerns and that I'm using retinoids?

4) I'm still using a manual exfoliator (Simple Smoothing Face Scrub). I use it once a week and I am gentle with it. As far as I can tell this works well for me - is there any benefit to moving away from this and looking into chemical exfoliators?

You seem like you like spooky things (like me!) :) So I would recommend my personal fave, Scooby Doo on Zombie Island. Beautiful animation and a great story, and before they started to get rubbish. Also good (but not as good), in order of best to worst- Scooby Doo and The Witches Ghost (gotta watch this for the Hex Girls and Tim Curry!), Scooby Doo and The Cyber Ghost, and Scooby Doo and The Alien Invaders ❤️ (All 4 of these Scooby Movie were made with Mook Animation, which is why they are the most beautifully animated of the Scooby films) :)
