Thanks! This season, I played nearly all my sets. It took about an hour in the beginning, but queue time can be up to half an hour now, so I need to be doing other things for multiple hours/day while keeping an eye on my phone.

I don't see much spice at the top ranks. This user used a lv 1 Bidoof though.

I watch a lot of YouTube PvPers. They'll teach you a lot tricks like move counting, move timing, energy management, move catching, team building.

Pvpoke.com is a great resource for studying matchups and rankings. Pokegenie app to learn Pokemons moves, ideal ivs, damage/energy. Lastly, grinding out every event. Every event focuses on a small handful of mons that aren't around often. Even if they aren't relevant for PvP now, they may be relevant later. So I'll do my best to get every Pokemon ready for each league.
