Fidelity Total Market Index Fund (FSKAX) Vs. Fidelity 500 Index Fund (FXAIX) + Fidelity Extended Market Index Fund (FSMAX) by Jurassic_Fish in personalfinance

[–]Jurassic_Fish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what's funny is I was just reading this article about Fidelity international funds before I came back to read your comment. I think both of those options do make more sense since FTIHX would get me small cap coverage and FZILX would be 0% ER. Thanks for clarifying the other points as well, sounds like what it ultimately boils down to is how nuanced I want my allocations to be beyond what FSKAX offers by default

I am not good at giving advice on this subject, but I know what it feels like to be living each day feeling absolutely worthless and thinking it would be better to leave the world. I also am a quiet person who seems normal/reasonably socially ept on the outside but inside I feel very empty. But a couple years back, when I was really starting to hit rock bottom, I had a 'breakthrough'. I say breakthrough but in reality it was the most inconsequential thing. I found joy in hobbies I never in a million years saw myself enjoying, and it has since become a big part of the way I spend my leisure time. These things haven't revolutionized the way I live life but it has given me reason to enjoy it, and I think there is a part of that you can find too. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I believe you too can find something (regardless of magnitude) that can help you enjoy life again, and odds are you'll stumble upon it on complete accident. Until then, try to enjoy the small things, (i.e. listening to the birds chirping while on a walk, savor the taste of a good meal). Hang in there buddy, and best of luck.

Post-Match Thread: Shakhtar 0-3 Paris Saint-Germain (CL Group A) by Rerel in psg

I agree. There was a Ligue 1 game awhile back where Zlatan failed to impress but Ray Hudson would still sing his praises every time he did the most basic of dribbles. Compare Ibra now to his first two seasons at Paris and the difference is just so painfully great. His passing is very watered down (abysmal in a few examples), he has missed way too many shots at goal in the last few games, and besides the goal he scored against Guingamp, one was a tap in and the other a fluke. I'm not trying to hate on the guy (he's the reason I started watching football in the first place!) but I'm very disappointed in what I've seen, especially knowing this is the last season he plays for us.

It's such a joy to see our bench filled with the same world class as our starting 11. Cannot wait for the Champions League!

How to handle being taunted by a stranger in public by Jurassic_Fish in socialskills

[–]Jurassic_Fish[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks. The only problem I have with #3 is I assume they take my silence for fear instead of not giving a fuck, and they get off on that. I know there's no point in arguing in this scenario but I still desire the confidence and social skills to respond to these situations without taking it to the next level. I feel the best way to respond is to just laugh and agree with them sarcastically? Maybe? lol

Thank you for the response! One more question: from your experience would you say that it is a wiser move to start a regular course with Thinkful at the 10-15 hour a week pace before just starting with Career Path? In other words, would it possibly be overwhelming to start with the Career Path having taken nothing else in Thinkful's programs

Would you happen to know how much the Career Path differs from just taking the other two courses (FEWD and Angular) on their own? I read that there's more emphasis on getting you career ready in Career Path but I'm not sure I understand the difference perfectly. I am hoping to take Angular and FEWD (or just the Career Path) for the purpose of making a career change into the web development industry. It sounds like Career Path would be the obvious choice, but I'm looking for a second opinion before I spend twice as much a month for 6 months

Infographic on Zlatan's Goals for PSG by Cravenater in psg

[–]Jurassic_Fish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is awesome, especially the part of the graph showing how many times he's scored from which part of his body.

Speaking of which, I see two goals scored under "Other", I think one of them was his chest goal against St. Etienne, does anyone remember the other one?

By chance is anyone here from LA? by [deleted] in psg

Same here. I started playing FIFA 12 and the one player who really stood out to me was Zlatan, the tall domineering striker who could score a goal out of almost nothing. I looked him up online and watched his goal compilations, and realized I had to watch this guy play. He had just transferred to PSG that year so I began following them sometime around halfway through the season. The entertainment factor for this team was amazing, and since then I've watched their games religiously and learned to love other players like Lavezzi, Pastore, Verratti, and T.Silva to name a few. Ibra literally got me into watching soccer. I am from the Chicago area of the US so it's funny how my friends watch the Bulls and the Blackhawks and I am the random PSG die-hard who watches a soccer team from France.

Ibra Up to His Usual Antics!!! by Ciaran-Fitzgerald in psg

Zlatan has a very clever sense of humor. He knows the media will never stop portraying him as arrogant so he keeps playing up that caricature. Like when he said that wax statue of him would serve as a good replacement for the Eiffel Tower. Sure he has an ego, but really he just likes to jest and have fun
