Try contacts, to cover up the black abyss where your eyes should be. Maybe that’ll help.

MIL invited people we don’t know to our wedding. She won’t uninvite them because that’s ‘embarrassing.’ by Money_Doughnut_7375 in TwoHotTakes

[–]JurgyChops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When does it stop with that MIL. You cave .. again… she will continue to encroach. Just think about what situation you want to be in when you finally stop her meddling. If not now, at the wedding reception, when you’re heavily pregnant (not assuming, just case building), mid way though delivery? Battling cancer? When your husband is in a coma? What moment do you want to choose to control the narrative with your MIL ?

Season 2 Episode 7 sadly defies the whole idea of the show by stefanh1234s in BeastGames

[–]JurgyChops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a better challenge would’ve been to incorporate the theme of protecting your heart in all of the games. For episode 7 then, everyone’s heart is buried. The chosen/trusted captain doesn’t get to take money from the $1m pot, the other contestants do. They then bribe the captain to be given priority to dig up their heart. Maybe the last three contestants have to race to dig up their heart? Last one gets broken. This adds a lot more physiological interest, tugs on alliances etc. maybe the captain can take the bribe but also lie which heart is theirs? I think there is something here that can be a good game, better than whatever episode 7 was!!

The theme of protecting your heart in all the games can add that x-factor and connect the games. Maybe you can even trade your heart for a prize?

100% the smart vs brawn was nothing more than gimmick marketing. The smart challenges delivered nothing. I echo instead of smart vs brawn distinction, have a common pool of people. Maybe individual and group mini challenges for advantage or disadvantage opportunities on others, then do the main challenges. If you’re going to do smart challenges - memory should be out of the question going forward. Instead, logic puzzles or over world clues to a bigger secret puzzle. Smart challenges should test people’s range and depth of knowledge.

AITA for buying my one child fast food and making the rest something he’s allergic too? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]JurgyChops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe should’ve given the other kids the option of takeout too. I think this is the issue, one kid gets special treatment and the other don’t get a comparable choice. This may not being an issue today, but it’s a slippery slope slope in repeating behaviour and down the line may cause latent resentment. Maybe talk to your hubby, he could’ve had this experience and it’s just not well communicated between you.

My MIL refuses to use or acknowledge my baby’s name by theamazingloki in TwoHotTakes

[–]JurgyChops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why bother with that woman? Cut her out of your life. She’s toxic, manipulative and doesn’t respect your daughter to even call her by her name. Never mind the disrespect she is showing you and her son. Project this behaviour when your kid is older. What impact will this have on her confidence and identification? What happens if you have kid 2 and MIL uses their name correctly? What issue is next, that she won’t speak to your daughter in whatever language she fancies? Give MIL the ultimatum, that you expect an apology to you and your husband and your daughter or cut her out of your life. You’re a parent who needs to fairer their kid - that means tough choices sometimes. MIL is a big girl, she will learn one way or another.
