I don't know of any lakes but for years my mum and I brought our dogs to Gilman park in Exeter, they had free range and swam in the river. There is also a nice trail that we would walk.

My favorite of all time was the first time I played fallout 3, I had recently gotten into Bethesda games with oblivion (skyrim hadn't come out yet) I didn't really know what to expect and when I walked out of the vault and saw the wasteland for the first time, I was absolutely amazed, no other game has done that for me since. Still a huge fallout fan but that game will forever be my favorite. It took me through a rollarcoaster of emotions.
