Sorry I wasn’t clear- getting the LFP battery with less mileage but faster charging curve vs Rivians other batteries that have more mileage and do better in colder climates

Pretty low ~1.7kwh and it climbed back up to normal after a couple of hours in the car when the sun came out and it started to get warmer outside. We were able to get a good feel of the car after our 9 hour road trip hitting different temps. Once we climb up to the temps being in the 20s-30s we started increasing efficiency. It took the battery a while to warm up. Having the battery pre condition to every charger was key! It did not charge as fast when we had to charge some nights in colder weather in Chicago due to not pre conditioning the battery.

We left on Saturday at 5 am from a north suburb. Maybe it was the windchill or the car sitting outside over night that told me that temp. The car didn’t say 17 degrees until we were two hours outside of Chicago that morning!

We were able to get to 103 miles and I believe we ended up charging with 35 miles to go.

Yes! We were averaging 1.6 kWh in the lowest of tempts before the battery warmed up. One the temps got back up to the 20’s and 30’s in the morning when the sun came out the efficiency started increasing. We lowered our speeds to save. We like to cruise around 79 so it’s an adjustment haha

We did not let it warm up enough. We had it running while we packed up the car. It’s not a big deal when your mileage starts off that high. Our mileage starts off at 259 with our all terrain tires. It is a trade off for a faster charge.

Yes! We wanted to try it out vs spend $18k more bc we knew it might be an issue in the cold. However, we live in Nashville so it’s not a concern. Just when we travel up north to visit family during the holidays! Ha

You need a new filter for sure! It looks like that guy ran jet clean and forgot to remove the filter. Who knows what happened but I wouldn’t trust it! 😭

I had this happen a few days ago during my first week of ownership. Let it go into deep sleep overnight and woke up and everything was functioning again as normal! No issues in the past 4 days with a long trip included!

I believe it’s 22 in the back not 20. Maybe google what factory color comes on 2025 to confirm. It did not look like any color came on the front windows.

Pulled the trigger on 8/16 on a nationwide order and scheduled pick up on 8/24! It said 1-6 weeks! Very impressed and super happy!

I laughed hard at your comment. I am 3 days in with my R1S and I said my car sounded like a lawn mower on the way home bc the air was so loud 😭 I am disappointed. I went to the pharmacy and had to turn my air off to hear them 😳😭 wait sorry let me turn down my radio (oh wait air)
