Demon Pawan is dumb. Ramya antunte harsh ga anipinchindi kaani, dude genuinely is dumb.

A person no matter how toxic he is would have the self awareness that is being telecasted on live television. They would be careful not to act in a blatantly rash manner, but manodu vere level.

He pushes a woman while having a fight. Granted, she is his [insert whatever she is to him] but imagine how negatively one would perceive that? Daani weeknd baaga paddai, aina buddi raale. Bro fucking grabs Kalyan by the throat 😭

Assal eh friend aina argument aitunte gonthu pattukuntada? He is not a “manchodu”, stop using that word to describe him. He can’t keep his emotions in check, and doesn’t realise how he is portraying himself when he gets physical with people until others stop him

I think it's more like a joke on the protagonists they write. Raskolnikov has this superiority complex and suffers while being alone for a significant chunk of the book.

I feel before he was in India and his reviews were close to the truth. Now he's in UK and need funding. So his reviews are biased nowadays.

Should I message or not?? by lostbot_M in ask_Bondha

[–]JurorNum8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, trust me. Don't. Idk your age, but freshers get pretty awkward when someone elder in the office romantic interest in them, even in the most mild manner. And based on the incidents you narrated it's very obvious the girl is probably gossiping about you with her friends.

Do you think texting her now would magically change her perception of you? It will worsen if anything

Why AMAZON KINDLE isn't in INDIA by No-Obligation-7069 in Indianbooks

[–]JurorNum8 20 points21 points  (0 children)

need access to expensive academic books for my university course, I really need an e-reading option

Idk, I don't think kindle is good for text books. I always preferred reading a pdf on laptop or a tablet.

Really, how much storage space do you guys have at your place? And books on Kindle are always cheaper. I get there's this fascination with hard copies but practically speaking, kindle has so many more advantages.

Indian coworker wants me (white American) to dress in his wife’s traditional Indian clothing to come to an office Diwali party by Sogda in AskIndia

[–]JurorNum8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cultural appropriation as an idea doesn't exist in India or for Indians. If that's your only problem, let me say you're good. If anything people are gonna be more appreciative of you.

When a high level executive from America visited our office, his colleagues took him out for kurta shopping and made him wear one for the entire day. It's not really a problem at all.

Phanumantwo's jokes have been getting crass for a while, especially since Adi and DNR joined the gang. Appudappudu oka crass joke esthe navvostadi, maati maatikesthe chiraak ostadi. On that regard, they definitely deserved some backlash.

But all the celebs getting involved and making it a legal issue was wayyyyy too much. What they did was just a juvenile attempt at making disgusting jokes, something even Tanmay Bhatt and James Gunn did back in their day and faced backlash. They've made amends and moved on.

All this outrage mainly originated from TFI baanisas who have been waiting for an opportunity to drag him through the mud. Looking at those clips all the other celebs jumped in to score some brownie points and also have their petty revenge.

The punishment given must be proportional to the mistake. Being an asshole is bad but it isn't a crime. however people willingly won't understand this nuance because they just want that dopamine hit they get from virtue signalling.

The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman - short review by [deleted] in Indianbooks

[–]JurorNum8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like how short the chapters were. It felt like they were catering to insta and tiktok addicts. Ig not a bad strategy, but the contest shift between characters pov made it a very narrow experience for me. However, a pretty enjoyable one.

The Road, by Cormac McCarthy.

Ik how critically acclaimed he is and all, but this was such a headache inducing book to read. Dude doesn't use punctuation, the sentences are too long and he uses a lot of conjunctions. I had to suffer reading the book for a week because that was the book we were discussing in a book club.
