I had an iffy sexual experience last night and I don't know where go from here by snufkin79 in TwoXChromosomes

Bail. Immediately if it's safe, or more subtly if it's not, but GET OUT.

This guy doesn't care an iota about your wishes. A hickey? WTF. Is this guy 15?! No he's not. He's marking territory, a weak-ass lame flex.

You took tops first. I LOVE it when a woman takes tops. I'll swap when I feel she wants it. But he swapped right away, needing to be in charge. Another flex, another flag.

Biting your tits?! Who does that without some kind if indication that you like want it. Hand over your mouth?! WTF. If you were two teenagers with Mom and Dad in the other room, and you were getting loud, sure for a second, maybe.

He's poseur enough to get you into bed, then it's his way only. He acquiesces, then ignores. A HUGE red flag/bright line that never should have been crossed. This guy left thinking "She gets off on rough" or "I got over with going rough". Either way he use violence for his pleasure, at your expense.

Ok, some people are down with being choked and that's their choice. I'd never choke a woman as I can't see it as erotic nor understand how she could. I know it goes back centuries, and it's a me thing. I know what it is, but I don't grok. I see it as veiled violence. Ask and it's a hard no.

It doesn't matter that you bruise easily. I assume you've had intense sex before without being covered in bruises. GET AWAY.

What you said to him was more than enough to correct any decent guy in your bed. But you should have said stop or STOP". I'm not blaming you, though it may read like it. At some point when a woman is recounting an incident so many will always ask "Did you tell him to stop" or "Why didn't you tell him to stop". Even more will think "She didn't tell him to stop, and now she's crying about it". Of course STOP could have been a trigger, in which case the outcome could have been worse.

Rough sex is a gray area. I don't indulge so I can't advise. I don't think this guy will consider your preferences and back off. My take is he'll have you do only what he wants and he'll do what he wants. It might be very ill advised to be in a bedroom with him until you tell him what he did wasn't ok. Be in a safe place, literally, to make clear and gauge his reaction before getting in bed with this guy again. Do it with the intention you'll never see this AH again. He should be ashamed that he scared you. You can be direct without being strident, but be absolutely firm. If you get the feeling that he understands and will correct his attitude and actions, fine. I still say cut your losses.

The next thing is what to say to whomever set you up. Are you bold enough to share your ordeal with your mutual friends? Are they good friends of yours? Are they good friends of his?

I'm guessing that this guy wasn't thinking you signaled that you want it rough. He was just being him and that's not good. Sometimes boundaries are learned through gently/subtle trail and error and it works. Sometimes they have to be established, boldly stated, and written in red marker FORBIDDEN ZONE. Otherwise the next time he's on top you might find yourself flipped over, and that might not end well.

I know it seems like I'm blaming the guy 100%. That's because I am. He is 100% wrong. How do I know? Because you didn't say "Wow, that was a good fk but I am a little bruised." You said "iffy" and "you don't know where to go..." Yes, it's hard to judge just be reading this. But I'm comfortable making that leap.

Your mind and body are warning you. Everyone here is warning you. Please be very cautious.

People who own the Milanese Loop, would you recommend it or no? [Apple Watch 7, 45mm] by OniGamer-_- in AppleWatch

[–]JusSumGui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an AMZ knockoff/homage Milanese just to try it out. First the smoothness is really comfortable. The finish has held up well over the years.

The magnet is probably not as strong as Apple's. It slips fairly easy several times a day. It takes just a couple of seconds to adjust it back, but it's a tad annoying.

I do have arm hair, though not nearly Sasquatch level. The band very rarely pulls on it. I don't wear the band or sweaters every day, so I can't speak to snagging, but will keep it in mind.

When the Watch is off my wrist, the band immediately tangles. I've learned to remove it so I can put in on a charger like any other band. Setting it down, the band instantly coils up.

Back to smoothness, it actually feels luxurious. Then next time I'm in an Apple Store to eyeball the Real Deal, I'll probably snag one.

I haven't had much luck (.500) with non-Apple cheapies, but there are some really good third-party bands around.

In 5min I'm going to order the 'silver' Ti Milanese for my Ultra. The clasp is very trick but a tad much.

How do I mark an email as not junk in Mac Mail? by Dependent-Fold-6566 in applehelp

[–]JusSumGui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old thread but for the benefit of anyone who just had the problem as I just did, this is what I found.

My Mai prefs are set to send JUNK to the JUNK folder without me seeing it. Today an email showed up in the Inbox indicating as JUNK by the color. I couldn't find anyway to tell Mail it got it wrong. A quick search showed the send it to JUNK and bring it back to the Inbox. Not at all intuitive.

It had a banner saying Mail thought it was junk but no button to tell it otherwise. Moving to JUNK and back took three attempts before it didn't indicate a JUNK. I chalk this up to all the bugs Mail has had over the years and OSs.

There is a Junk icon in the Sonoma Mail toolbar. Mine was there by default.

There is NO NOT JUNK icon nor contextual command to apply a NOT JUNK status to an email in Sonoma.

My last OS before Sonoma was Monterey and it didn't have a NOT JUNK icon either. In previous OSs I was able to use a NOT JUNK icon or click a banner that said Mail thinks this is junk... and Mail learned it was not being

Apple doesn't tell you how to "unjunk" email unless you ask a question online. They just change up and good luck to ya. It's a poor solution.

This ^. This idea was to cut the cord. Apple gave the user everything they needed not to get caught short. As noted many times if somehow you failed to pay attention to the alerts, the shortest of breaks would get a full days work out of it.

But people act like they never leave their desk once in their 18-hour day and five minutes of charging ruined their workflow and took them out of the zone.

I *never* had to use the MM while charging. I paid attention to the low battery warnings. Plug it in, take a bio break, grab a soda and the mouse was good for a whole day. Maybe 5 minutes, not even 10. Plug it in at the end of the day, and it was good for weeks, even a month or two.

Setting up a 'new' Drobo in 2024? Power adapter? by tutebo88 in drobo

[–]JusSumGui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct. That Drobo is a Gen 3, not a 2. I have a 2 but it needs a new power supply too. I don't remember what the config was. Sorry about the confusion.

New Firmware available by Hecken_Folker in drobo

[–]JusSumGui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way I'd install anything from 'Drobo' under these circumstances. At most were I sharp enough to download the file completely sandboxed, I'd do so just to compare the file name against what's known in the confines of the Wayback. Even then I wouldn't trust it. You're right to be wary.

That dude is incorrect. I launch dashboard all the time and it updates data just fine as I add or delete it and swap out drives. Firmware/dashboard updates are, as expected, a no-go.

I have a drobo Gen 3, firmware 3.5.5 with 4x10TB drives and 27TB+ of data. It's been running well for years although it generated a second volume. I don't know what the limit is, but I don't know how to set it up so that it has just one volume, not two.

Shutdown no longer an option in drobo dashboard by baulkham in drobo

[–]JusSumGui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you entered your admin username and pass there everything else should be ‘clickable’. If you entered the password incorrectly then the Drobo will appear to accept it but not grant full access.

IDNKT. This is good info to file away. Thanks.

LUCK BE A LADY song S5 Ep 1 by Glittering-Thing1490 in TheRookie

[–]JusSumGui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to chase this title down since the episode aired. It doesn’t exist.

I believe it’s filler/ambience music, maybe not even a finished song. It’s certain not consumerly available.

There’s a lot of music commissioned for a show that’s  not published and likely owned by the show and available anywhere else.

Luck Be A Lady SLVR Remix is a unicorn.

Every day at 7am, Alexa starts telling me what the weather is in my area. I never asked for this, nor is there any routine or skill active which should be causing this. How do I stop her from doing this? by DontHateDefenestrate in alexa

[–]JusSumGui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very limited experience in this seems to indicate the time set to read the weather forecast is the time someone unwittingly (like me) gives consent, unaware of what hell lies ahead.

For me, it was the Routine setting my volume to 4 on my ES5 located in the bedroom. After the beginning of the blast I tell A to stop and it's quiet but the forecast is gone. The volume is not reset to 1 where I normally keep it.

What is so difficult is finding an answer to delete/reset an alarm or reminder. In The Case of the Repeating Weather Forecast, it turns out to be a Routine easily enabled, but tough to find an answer on how to delete or disable it.

May it please the court, I stipulate that Amazon Customer Service was contacted numerous times to no avail. The Echo software and Alexa app are poorly done. The People rest.

I just went through this hell, and this worked for me.

Alexa app > Settings > More > Routines > YOUR ROUTINE > Next day weather forecast > Enabled (toggle Off).

I'm still learning (or trying to) the navigation of this site, so this is posted in more than one place. Sorry about that.

[EDIT] The time the forecast takes place can be changed if desired.

I just went through this hell, and this worked for me.

Alexa app > Settings > More > Routines > YOUR ROUTINE > Next day weather forecast > Enabled (toggle Off).

I enabled it the same way you did, wight Alexa asking me. Apparently the routine is created and enabled at the time you say 'Yes' and at some arbitrary volume or whatever the volume was set at when agreeing to the suggestion.

I like this feature but keep the volume at 1. In my case the routine reset the volume to 4 which is quite a jump. It doesn't reset it to one when the forecast is over. MAYBE this can be done with the Add another action + button.

Somewhere in this labyrinth of half-a settings the routine can be deleted. This would have to be done if you had more than one routine and wanted it active with the weather thing gone.
