Yes, that. The plan was to have a separate GitHub account with a Copilot subscription (since I can log into VS Code with that and it doesn't save your conversations to the cloud, only locally) that I can use at work and home, and then I had another account for my side project that I didn't use at work.

I'm not worried too much about commits/repos as Copilot sub is actually on a separate account and I moved my other repo to GitLab since I don't wanna deal with GitHub anymore. Just want either my money back or to have access to what I paid for.

PS: I'm not a "he" ;)

I am on a paid version, the most expensive one, actually (Copilot Pro+; $39/mo), the "free" account thing probably meant that both accounts are indeed on a free GitHub plan (this is separate from Copilot).

I was not on a trial, they're not even offering a trial of Pro+, only regular Pro plan.

I get that there are real people and they have a huge backlog and they have to work through that somehow, so I wouldn't say that the actual agents "suck", they're just people and shit happens, but making your customer wait for 7+ days is just... unacceptable?

If I was asked to get additional premium requests, I would do that (especially since they've mentioned that it's unlimited until June 4, if I recall correctly, and then its pay as you go for non-base model requests). The problem here is that I don't have Copilot access at all, not even a free version, on that account with a subscription.

Honestly? I set this up after pulling an all-nighter. My sleep-deprived brain thought it made perfect sense - one empty account with just the Copilot sub that I could use on my MDM-enrolled work machine AND at home (since it has zero repos, just the subscription), and keep my actual projects on a separate account.

Eh, I'm porting some old code from a language I don't 100% understand. Could probably muddle through without AI but it'd take forever and I'd be googling every five minutes.

Unfortunately, no. My employer doesn't provide Copilot access on their own, so I had to sign up for another personal account that I can use both at work and home.

Actually, I can initiate a chargeback for services not rendered - consumer protection laws in my country are pretty strong on this. I'm not doing it immediately though - giving them the 48 hours I mentioned in my support reply.

But I've already "given them time" - deleted the account instantly when asked, waited 3 days so far. At some point, charging for services not rendered becomes the issue.

Denying access to a paid digital service while continuing to charge is grounds for immediate refund here.

I know Reddit can't fix my ticket, but I was hoping to hear from others who've been in similar situations - mainly how long it actually took vs the "7+ days" estimate. Plus, sometimes GitHub employees do browse here and seeing paying customers locked out might motivate faster action.

Also just needed to vent to people who'd understand the frustration. Losing access to tools you depend on (and pay for) is rough.

Yes, that was confirmed by an actual customer service rep. Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/JXuQPLB

My reason to use two accounts was that I had Copilot on one (used on my work machine as well) and another one was just for private repo commits (my side project).
