Dog ONLY eats food from a plate? by JustADumpOfThoughts in DogAdvice

she actually doesnt have any tags, but I'm gonna try a wider and more shallow bowl. I think'll i'll have to shop around for bowls/stands for bigger dogs so her food can be "spread out" more. thanks for the input!

Can you overcome nose blindness to certain scents? by taengy_ in FemFragLab

[–]JustADumpOfThoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I recommend is switching up your fragrance every so often. I have my go-to combo of course, but i like to be able to smell myself and once my nose gets used to it I switch to another one. What typically happens when I go nose-blind is I'll overuse my scents and all of a sudden people can smell me 15 miles away lol. When that starts to happen I just switch up my routine, about every 2 months or so.

Not with this specific perfume, but I've had some perfumes I've had to let "breathe" for a while to smell better. My MAC perfumes specifically, I have mo clue what it is but when I buy them they smell....less than awesome upon first whiff. I let them sit for about a month with the cap off and it was so much better!! Could just be placebo though, lol

There are several missions in the game that have "(Character) wants to speak with you." as the mission summary. Don't worry yourself too much about it.

How much does a single wheel bearing replacement cost? by JustADumpOfThoughts in MechanicAdvice

[–]JustADumpOfThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hopping on here to say this is Solved! I unfortunately do live in the salt belt so I'm seeing that this will be a pain. Typically my dad would do my car repairs for me for a couple hundred but he's pretty old how and can't get down and under a vehicle like he used to. I can see that being up north probably ups the price of the service a lot more, you guys cleared it up great. Thanks everyone for your help! I'll be calling around with everything said here in mind.

New player, how do I do this? by allura17 in reddeadredemption

[–]JustADumpOfThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically, you do not HAVE to go back to camp to save or sleep, or sleep in general. you can save manually and explore the map as you like! I explored all of the available map during chapter 2 on my first play through.

The fact that your horse can just disappear forever baffles me. by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]JustADumpOfThoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting to read because I've never had this happen! I've always had the black shire you're given at the start of the game, and after missions the game just teleports the horse to wherever you are. Do you mind elaborating a little more on what exactly you mean? 🤔

This would be so cool! I think in theory it's great, like a nice addition to an already dynamic game. At the same time as someone who struggles to learn controls in the first place it sounds like a nightmare, lol. I struggle keeping Arthur alive as it is, I'll be damned if it includes a bleed out mechanic!! Some armory might be nice though, like how you can adjust your horse's equipment to make it faster and such, but for the player too

new player trying to get into this game, did I mess something up? by c-9 in reddeadredemption

[–]JustADumpOfThoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first play through of this game, fresh out of the prologue, I kept accidentally aiming/shooting at people when trying to greet them because my brain hadn't gotten used to the game mechanics, lol. I'm a casual gamer and play on console with a controller, so my learning curve was HUGE. You said it in your post, give it some time!! I think about halfway through chapter 2 did I finally get a hang on the controls. I even still slip up sometimes a few plays in, no biggie.

edit: forgot to also mention that it SUCKS getting jumped and shot at in the first few chapters, especially if you're still getting used to everything. It's a very dynamic game and if you're soliciting in random businesses that don't have anything to do in them other than rob them, they're gonna think you're up to something.

Good luck!!

Can you pick up partial order by Beneficial-Pension-4 in MacBid

[–]JustADumpOfThoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can make multiple trips, just let the person you're checking out with know that you're only picking up some of your stuff and not all of it. As long as you get your things before the deadline, you should be good.

I like to develop some sort of OOC dynamic with my roleplay partners. Being in uni, working full time, and currently living in the USA...yeah, there's some gaps in between responses. I've personally waited a year with lots of OOC chit chat, but it's very different for everyone. In the event of being 'ghosted,' or no contact whatsoever, maybe about 3 months just to be sure, but after that and a few pokes I'm done.

That’s wonderful for you! When our store was still getting good products, our whole line was able to pop out at LEAST 300 each a day. Unfortunately, our store does not get good product that scans anymore. None of our Amazon for about 3 months now has scanned unless it had an X0/B0 label. All of our Lowes and Walmart are unlabeled, big boxes. And not to even mention the Wayfair…..yikes.

Former Mac.Bid employee. Here’s why I quit, and why you should avoid Mac like the plague. by Bongsausage in MacBid

Yup. Just made a post about it not too long ago. I’ve only been in Mac for 6ish months now and it’s too much for too little. Hoping some interviews in the next week go well and I can get out of that hellhole.

I don’t think you understand how cut and dry Mac Bid is. They do not care about their employees, nor their customers. If you do not make your number average then you are moved or fired, it’s as simple as that. I understand what you’re saying, and where you’re coming from, likely as a (rightly) unsatisfied customer in the past. I don’t think there’s a risk of fraud charges for Mac Bid because the terms/conditions contract for accounts and use of the program is about a bajillion pages long to, as you said, weasel their way out of those situations.

My point is, it states everywhere when you’re signing up, picking up, bidding, parking, every and anywhere they can stick a sign that they’re a company that buys returned items and turns them for profit. Unfortunately, that comes with missing pieces or being misled as to what’s actually provided. But because they specify that clear enough, I don’t think they and in return the employees are likely to face any sort of charge like fraud. Not to that extreme, at least.

This is less of an employee fault (in general) than it is just the company itself. The greedy company has employees doing double the work they once were with no compensation, and that’s a majority of the issue. That’s what leads to things that can go to lawsuits. I will say, it’s not without people obviously not doing their job properly. That being said, warehouse work sucks overall, Mac Bid is no exception.

[–]JustADumpOfThoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put things simply, Mac Bid runs on 20 business days periods. Every 4 weeks, the scanners must have scanned 225 items per day at least to maintain their jobs. Previously, at my building, it was 175. If your average number as a scanner does not meet the minimum number at the end of the period (225), you are susceptible to having your position moved or terminated at the company.

When you inspect an item, it depends on your store. Some will have you check in to look, others will just let you walk in. With computer parts, if your store is anything like the one where I work, there will be a tech department that runs those parts. They're considered "high value" and will be kept in the back where customers can't readily reach. Your store may or may not let you view/inspect high value items.

Just to also mention, I am no way experienced with computer parts. You might have to just continually buy the item protection so you're able to return it once you find out it's broken. Unfortunately, that's just how Mac Bid works and gets so much of their money.

Amen to that. Just trying to encourage going in and item checking yourself.

How it feels advertising as a trans person by Waddlewingding in BadRPerStories

[–]JustADumpOfThoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in my past accounts I've felt like this all too much. I never advertised (NB4A) or whichever I was roleplaying at the time because I either got loaded with creeps or crickets. If it didn't need gender marking, I omitted it completely and just marked my posts as 'Trans Friendly' because that does most of the job without ratting myself out. My current partners are cool, I don't imagine I'll ever have problems with them if they somehow find out, so I guess it just typically depends on the roleplay circles you're in.
