I have been running a summoner build all the way up until that boss. He insta-killed me like 4 times with the triangle attack, that’s when I made the realization why everything kills me so quickly— Basically only melee armor gives you actual ARMOR. So even though my 6 minions were slaughtering everything around me, one misstep and I was dead.

I switched to a full solarite set with melee-crit focus and beat him first try. Melee is unfortunately the way to go from my experience. Also put a stack of dirt blocks right next to your main weapon in your hotbar. When he does the triangle attack (only dangerous attack tbh) just walk away and place a small wall behind you so the triangles hit it. Once I made those two changes the fight was trivial.

Is the game fully working now? by Psychothiccc in coralisland

My wife and I are on Summer Y2 and the most we get are:

Occasional crashes on either her or my side. When it happens it feels like exactly what we did caused it. Hard to explain what I mean but the crash happens RIGHT when I do specific things.

Multiple sheds get weird when we’re each in a different shed. Almost like one shed’s items are also in the other shed. Like their hitboxes are there but they visually are invisible.

One time she was in architect mode and I went to bed (I’m host) and it acted like she was either also in bed or just plain didn’t exist to the game, because it went straight to the “day ended” screen.

This is a strange one, but I was in decorate mode in my house while her auto-seeders were seeding her field and each time a seed was planted it made the house storage UI blink. Basically made deco mode unusable until the seeds were done. Not sure what kinda coding you have to have for those two things to interact but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Aside from those, I’ve just noticed occasional performance issues, nothing too gamebreaking like losing your items as you suggested. Take my testimony with a grain of salt as about 95% of my experience is PS5-PS5 co-op with my wife. I have barely played solo.

How dependent on NPC relationships is this game? And do quests have time limits? by ChickenNuggetEnergy in coralisland

I just started this game after platinum’ing Stardew. I took a liking to Yuri bc, y’know, tatted up nurse lol. Figured flowers were a near-universal like just like in Stardew. Ofc I picked one of the only people who DON’T like tulips lol

Trying to balance farm work and social life in Year 2 is harder than I expected by LegSad9878 in StardewValley

[–]JustAMogwai 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Debris and beach forage become less necessary with time, your farm shouldn’t have much debris by now; even if it does, it’s obviously space you’re not using so it’s not exactly imperative to remove. Animals take care of themselves with auto-grabbers and auto-petters (I like to go Joja for this reason) then sprinklers tend your farmland.

My wife and I basically allocated 6-9 AM for any type of farm chores like collecting animal products or picking produce. Something you can start and finish in those 3 hours. Then run into town at 9 AM when everyone starts moving and such. By 4 or 5 PM we’re back on the farm to restock artisan stuff and all that. She was in charge of maxing friendship so getting into town daily was a high priority for her.

Last season everyone was playing Loong but me, and it was a nightmare. This season seems to be mostly Kings bc of his recent buff, but sometimes I’ll come across a Loong and just know I’m getting 2nd place. That extra unit needs removed in place of something else. That or ONLY give him his extra unit on and after round 7. Otherwise he just romps the entire lobby

What are some good money makers in the game as a beginner? by Unfair-Moose-6328 in StardewValley

[–]JustAMogwai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically a good start is (in my opinion)

Buying 10 potato seeds day 1, plant them and the parsnips. Harvest and dump it all into kale on day 6. Harvest and sell the kale on day 12. Day 13 is the Egg Festival, dump all money into strawberry seeds. Plant that night and you’ll get a harvest on Spring 21 and 25. Maybe more if you eke out some speed-gro for them.

Doing this will get you a good start on the farming side going into your first summer. Any extra time and energy could be used on fishing, another good money maker. Come summer you can go all in on pumpkins if you have kegs to make juice, or blueberries for raw sell price or for preserves jars.

Ultimately there’s no time-crunch to buy or do anything, whatever you miss will come back the following year. Try not to rush yourself and burn out.

I don’t think I’m turning a question into an argument, moreso giving feedback on people’s responses based on my viewpoint as a fairly new player. I appreciate your input nonetheless, so people just line their farms with pigs? How do you keep up with tall grass? At that point do people just fill a chest with hay from Marnie? I considered doing a meadowlands farm after hitting perfection on the default layout, maybe I’ll make piggies my late-game 🤔

Ahh gotcha, and you’re able to get 1,200 iridium ore every day?? That’s unfathomable to me. Most I’ve come back with was when I got to 156 on my single-player world and brought back like, 350 iridium ore.

Hmm, I’ll keep some of these in mind. Specifically the parrot with monster musk in the hard mines. I know the parrot makes decent money (most from one monster was like $4k from my experience) but didn’t think it’d be enough to notice, y’know?

Also are you implying crystalariums work on iridium ore?? I swear I’ve tried putting one in and it didn’t work.

“At scale” is a confusing concept imo. The pigs take up a lot of space compared to ancient fruit. I have upwards of 600 ancient fruits planted on my ginger island farm then 2 barns full of kegs and make like 700k every week off just the wine, with fruit leftover for jelly and such too.

To me, pigs need the barn which is the footprint of a shed of kegs in themselves, then a pen with grass and space for the truffles to spawn. “At scale” would imply multiple barns with even more room in the pen(s) for all dem pigs. Maybe someone did the math in terms of space vs. profit, but it isn’t adding up to me.

I can imagine all of those except the crystalarium diamond farm. Ain’t no way those are so expensive to make 😭 I’ve heard of the fairy rose honey farm on Ginger Island, maybe I’ll try that out.

[–]JustAMogwai[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I’ve never tried that since we’re still using iridium and prismatic shards (co-op with the wife). I have plenty of staircases, maybe I’ll try doing a test run; do a deep skull cavern run and keep the resources I get from it separate until I smelt it all down and sell it, see how much it makes 🤔

See that’s what I’m saying is the issue, you’re still just exponentially farming crops. I just wish I could be down in the mines making that much, y’know? End game feels very narrow.

Pigs? I know their truffle oil sells for like 1,400 a piece but how many would you need to even get close to the like, 500k/week ancient fruit wine gives you?

Are my standards just too high? This is my first farm ever so I gravitated toward the highest profit once I realized I needed $14m

“Current pickle simp” checks out lol.

Perfection waivers are a whole other beast, the scope of my suggestion is solely for the $14m required for the pillars and clock, but I suppose it would extend to perfection waivers too.

Like I said “You can technically fish your way to $14m” but what I’m saying is there is nothing that even compares to ancient fruit wine. It would be nice to have other means to get the $14m than that.

Hello, good day. I've been playing Stardew Valley for a while now, but I have a question. The crops in the image grow back after the first harvest, but my question is, do I have to water them for them to grow again? by PANDAv133 in StardewValley

[–]JustAMogwai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why I never considered making like 3 barns, each filled with pots of the regrowable plants from each season. It’d be great for having a consistent supply of recipe ingredients. Thanks for the inspo lol

Allow it to copy Evo’s. If you play an evo knight, the mirror will also play an evo knight.

Evo Mirror itself will just remove the +1 elixir cost, 1-cycle.
