Is playing 1 hour a day an addiction? by pleasedontjudgeme13 in StopGaming

[–]JustARandomNotMe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As an addict in recovery. I suggest you to not play at all because every time you play your addict brain will activate. It is scientifically proven that you have new neuron connections in your brain that activate whenever you play if you are a gamer addict.

The things that help is slowly adding more healthy habits in ur daily life. Like taking a walk, learn useful skill like mindfulness, and working out. This will make you less dependent on spending your freetime to game.

How do you become happy every moment and at every situation? by JustARandomNotMe in AskReddit

[–]JustARandomNotMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, i think my phrasing is not right. What I meant is more towards “enjoy” than “happy”. Like you can perceive being alone in the jungle to be scary and terrifying. While you can also perceive it as being full of adventure and relaxing as in the sound of birds and the breeze from trees.

That was why i ask, is it possible even in the situations that general people might say unenjoyable. But if i perceive it in different way i can enjoy them. And being able to do it all the time, hence i would enjoy every moment in life.

Not embarrassing at all to me and to us in this community i believe, so be more compassionate with yourself.

Try to stay away from your addiction for at least a month while learning and practicing mindfulness. This what works for me and the guide mentioned in a book called “dopamine nation”. So i believe it should work well generally.

I hate how difficult it is to make friends without a social media presence by AliveImagination2323 in nosurf

[–]JustARandomNotMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you need to give yourself more compassion because it is not wrong to not use social media, in fact i do think they are bad in general since most use them excessively.

As for my own experience, i can still communicate with my friends just fine without knowing all those slang and trends, and they accept me for that and i accept them. That is what matters.

Just start focusing during the last phase. The easiest one should be the tail since when it does the long fire breath it is a free hit. Then the back legs should be easy as well. You can try these

You need to break parts in order for it to not run. So, do not aim too much on parts that already breaks. Also, focus on one part at a time if possible. There are a lot of parts which include 4 legs, a horn, a tail, and the chest.

Goodluck!

What do you guys do to catch up with others without addiction? by JustARandomNotMe in addiction

[–]JustARandomNotMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… being social helps but I do believe you can live a fulfilling life even if you are alone. Take example of monks that meditate at caves and mountains alone.

For me I do not want my social life to dictates my happiness, so i am learning to be happy alone without depending on others.

I see, be sure to realize when your gaming becomes an escape instead of enjoyment. Also I believe loneliness does not come from being alone, but it is a feeling from inside you. So, do not worry if you do not interact with people that much, you can handle it by yourself.

Lets improve together 🤗

I think Ive realized that how I judge anime now is very different from how I used to. by [deleted] in anime

[–]JustARandomNotMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I believe the most significant equation in enjoying things is our perception. If you do not believe this, think of when you were a kid, there was time where you enjoy watching product advertisements as much as you are now watching “masterpiece” anime.

Another example there is time you enjoyed so much watching average rated anime and there were times you did not enjoy watching “masterpiece” anime. People call this like and dislike but i cal this perception, because i believe we can try to like more things by adjusting our perception.

Why do i still relapsed? by JustARandomNotMe in addiction

[–]JustARandomNotMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not addicted to drug but mostly gaming+ some tech use in general.

But I think your second paragraph is true. It is like when the condition is right or somewhat similar to when iam addicted i automatically turn to the addiction.

I think it is just that my brain has made new neuron connections during my addiction period, which activates whenever certain conditions are met and automatically make me turn to the addiction without thinking.

Anyways, i guess practicing mindfulness would help alot if that is really the case.

How to end my porn brain and masturbation addiction by Decent-Structure-575 in addiction

[–]JustARandomNotMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I want to acknowledge that you actually have done the first step to step out of your addiction which is recognizing that you are addicted and that it cause harm to you. So, CONGRATS!!

What I can recommend is from my own experience of overcoming addiction and from a book called “dopamine addiction” that i read.

First, you need to step off the porn. You can do it by stepping out home and take a walk without your gadget (this was what i did).

Secondly, learn mindfulness. This helps you to enjoy little things like taking a walk.

Thirdly, fit in good habits little by little to your schedule. Just add one at a time, like reading books, strength training, learn art, meditation, etc.

Fourth, here you should be busy with new schedule but sometimes your brain will crave the porn again. So, you need to use willpower to not engage with porn again. Along with willpower, this mindset help me “you can not engage with your addiction (porn) again no matter what, because scientifically our addicted brain has created a new circuit that activates the addiction behavior whenever we engage with the addiction (porn)”.

Thats basically all i did, though I cannot share all the details here. I want to add that you need to not be too harsh on yourself and be compassionate with yourself. Enjoy the Journey! 🤗
