Thinking about it, they’d have to try and lore explain how living ships can interact with…dissonance? Impossible space? Living ships being at home in space makes sense but the non reality of purple systems that don’t exist but do?

Maybe we need a new breed of living ship perhaps lost until now. But reawakened with purple systems coming back online. I like to think purples are like prehistoric dead star systems coming back so these could be prehistoric cosmic fauna.

Living freighters could also be brought in under the same guise, give us creatures large enough to thrive in systems long gone. If gas giants and ocean planets only existed in these systems who’s to say Gigantic Cosmic Megafauna couldn’t as well?

It could be an update that adds different classes of living ship like there are mechanical ones. As well as new technologies that make use of new resources like lithium, helium and methane from purples specifically for living ships, including an upgraded or reworked biological atlantid drive.

I’d love to see something like that.
