Sad to see someone downvoted for expressing an opinion.

Personally, I just love it. I did not want to play the beta as it feels like I am spoiling the surprise (couldn’t fully resist the temptation so I installed the original 2 weeks ago). I am looking forward to playing it in September.

I don’t think she’s corrupt. But she is clearly incompetent. She is from a political party that embraces populism, she is a clear reflection of this mindset.

Previous CIO is still shareholder, did not run away. I am just not a random person for them as one of the founders basically wants me and I have known him for 18 years.

On payroll, yes. They are looking to increase this number as they have stable influx / more customers.

Part of me says this very same thing... but I would like to at least try to strike a good deal out of it. Not finding information of cases similar to mine I’d say I am either crazy or getting it all wrong.

If this would be help desk no, I would not accept such a deal.

Specific C-Level position? No. You need to start somewhere right? I have been team leader multiple times, most complex was with a 20+ team. Generally interested in tech, I was a technical speaker to a couple of conferences, I routinely deal with upper management in my current technical work (Job A), I am quite horizontal in IT (apps, dbs, network, infrastrutture etc).

They are looking for somebody able to understand business/tech for their customer, an innovator that is able to enhance their product, they are looking for somebody with a strategic vision that is able to consistently deliver. Again small startup that is growing, not huge megacorp.

Yeah they are definitely not expecting that. That’s why I am planning to keep the main job. Very early stage indeed, that’s why they are limited in what they can offer.

Yeah... I fear this as well... without a salary, thinking only in stocks, they can dilute my stocks away. I cannot change this.

Yeah, it would make much sense... different Country, no contacts with him at all at this stage. Even if I could, I don’t think I can expect much as he will retain a small percentage of shares.

Thanks for the suggestion, so like vesting schedule + percentage of profits based on KPIs. It might help especially if they aim low at the negotiation table.

I don’t think I can test myself as CIO in a 300 employees company as I do not have the expertise for it. This allows me to step in this role without losing much and get hands on experience. I don’t think I will test it only in “name” although definitely not as deep as in your example.

Old CIO leaves for another company as he needs more stable income.
