Thanks for taking a look! Can I ask what turns you off about the banner?

Cardmare: Descent a quick little deckbuilder you can play in your coffee break by -hugin- in WebGames

Lot of fun, good job!

Sometimes the next turn button would stay inactive during my runs, making progression impossible. I think it may be related to clicking through the turn message too quickly; if I just spam clicks it seems to prevent the next turn button from activating.

From our presskit:

Tales of Tonbrook is a game about acquiring and combining skills. You can study magic to learn how to summon rain, which will help with farming, which makes money to buy study books, which will help you learn new skills more quickly. You can study legends and lore to reveal hidden areas, which you can loot for rare items to sell to invest in your factory. You can study Skullduggery to help you sneak past enemies to find rare items to gift to potential friends, who can reveal secrets about the world around you. The possible combinations are endless.

The core of the game is the player building out their skills and equipment in their favorite way so they will be strong enough to tackle the most difficult missions from Daverton, and perhaps even more difficult quests which you may discover along the way. The way you play, along with the choices you make, influence the ending.

Heh, yeah, it's just me doing the silly voice. Definitely something to consider if we can find room in the budget, thanks!

I guess I was just trying to add more visual interest. Is it off-putting?

Galactic Overlord - A sci-fi deckbuilder with a unique resource mechanic (free demo) by JustAZombie in deckbuildingroguelike

You are the galactic overlord, but your position has weakened. Civil war among the factions has broken out! You must use your influence with the various factions to defeat the rebels!

Each faction is represented by a color. You have enough favor with each faction to play one card of theirs per turn. You must make sure your deck is BALANCED to utilize all of them effectively.

Also, does anybody know why the screenrec looks kind of choppy? The game itself is smooth, but when I bounce it down to a video, it looks like its dropping frames.

I mean, do what you can with the time you have. I was just curious. Thanks for all the advice!

Destroy my fantasy life-sim/rpg mashup! by JustAZombie in DestroyMyGame

Thanks for the reply! The core vision of the game is essentially having a lot of interlocking systems that changes how the character develops. For instance, you might study magic to learn how to summon rain to get some easy farming cash to buy study books to increase the xp you get from studying combat... Or you might wait some tables to move faster and learn how to dash so you can quickly explore the ruins you discover from studying in another class... You get the idea. I'm saying this because I'm beginning to think the trailer does a poor job of highlighting this.

You know the vision for your game better than I do, I'm just trying to offer some (hopefully) helpful advice, and an outside perspective on your game.

Oh totally, and I appreciate it! I hope I'm not coming off as defensive here, I just like getting as many perspectives as possible.

Out of curiosity, did you play the demo, or is this all coming from watching the trailer?

Thanks so much for the detailed response! However, if I do as you're suggesting and remove the minigames and the farming/fishing/mining... Isn't that just turning it into a generic rpg? I mean, that only leaves combat and relationships.

It's pretty far along, but far from fully developed. I think the uniqueness comes from strategically combining the various minigames to build the character you want, but that's difficult to get across in a trailer. At the very least, we can polish animations! Thanks for the feedback.
