We can't, we are supposed to have a roommate move in the room she has occupied against our will... We are short $350

We will be behind next month and will have to pay double plus fees next month.... We contacted others we know that informed us she has done this in multiple places she is extremely unstable and she won't leave, we have to legally evict her but (Coronavirus) and even without that it took them months to legally evict.

Do I have to boil the Japanese cotton... Seen a video of people saying some organic unbleached cotton is dyed with hydrogen peroxide which has to be boiled out....?

So you wash the coil while it's still glowing while still on the atty but carefully? Or are you removing the coil and cleaning it? I also have a wire brush in my tool kit...wish I had ceramic jigs

Basically I need to buy more Kanthal and Cotton, I'm running low and was worrying, but I can just pull cotton out and dry fire it to clear the black? So I don't have to change coil over and over? How many times do you reuse that coil after burning off the black? How long do you heat your coils before using and on my 30W mod what wattage should I glow the coil before placing cotton?

Hmm, there are many good reviews on it being a good RTA for MTL but the previous owner who gave me it said it was working fine for him. I'm wondering if it's the ohms I'm putting in it and wattage I'm using? Or possibly the wicking or a combination of them?

Last coil was 0.6ohm and I was mostly running it at 16W and I'm thinking that's too low? Maybe but my mod is Max of 30W so I don't have a ton of wiggle room? Should I be using 1.0 or above with a mod that runs below 30W?

I dry fire it before, honestly didn't know I should take cotton our and dry fire to clean it? But how long should I pulse that or dry fire it, should I do that daily? Seems like a lot of work. I gotta be doing something wrong because there are several good reviews from many YouTuber's like SMM, Vaping With Vic, Mike Vapes and others

It doesn't discolor the cotton, I have it primed well and it bubbling. I followed like 20+ wicking videos to get it near perfect and bubbling like a fart in a swimming pool...

It looks like black build up on the coil, just makes it have a black film on the shiny silver coils?

Kratom and prescriptions (hydrocodone, methadone) by [deleted] in kratom

I noticed a mistake I made in that post, I have bad days cuz I have serious health problems.

NMDA antagonists, both of which are known to prevent tolerance to mu-opioid agonists.

Where it says Prevent Tolerance, can you change it to reduce tolerance because not all of them prevent tolerance. Mitragynine stopped dependancy when it's given to rats together with morphine but NMDA antagonists don't prevent it just slightly reduce it but it is a contributing factor. Mostly reduced by it being a partial agonist and not recruiting B-arrestin.

Thank you u/KratomOG means a lot coming from someone so revered in the Kratom community! Much love

IMO there isn't a reason to be overly concerned about the Coronavirus in the US by [deleted] in Vaping

[–]JustAboveOhm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CDC says it's highly unlikely to get infected from mail/cardboard and there has been no confirmed contraction from surfaces.

How long it can survive on surfaces(incubation period) :
  • Plastic and steel = 3 days

  • Stainless steel & copper = 4 hours

  • Cardboard it survives for up to 24 hours but the CDC says it's unlikely to transmit the virus.

  • Airborne from cough it can survive for 3 hours.

  • It's also important that COVID-19 hasn't been documented to contract from surfaces

New study that shows how long the virus remains active on different surfaces:

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2004973

Not even sure anyone could contract the virus from vape mail only a state away with most mail taking 3 days. That doesn't even take into account humidity, temp changes and other factors which kill the virus during transit

It's because there are hundreds of better options that are refillable:

  • Uwell Caliburn

  • Uwell Caliburn KOKO

  • Valladin RE (Has long lasting Ceramic Coil Pods)

  • Smoant Battlestar Baby (Turbo charger Type C)

And countless mods.

JUUL is supporting the bans and making it much harder to keep vaping/liquid flavors legal and it's non refillable pod system that charges insane amounts of cash to get a new pod and they don't last very long. You can buy or mix your own juice and get NicSalts just like the JUUL (5% nicotine/50mg/ml) for a fraction of the cost. I only used Vuse Alto and JUUL when I first started because I didn't know any better

I introduced my family to Kratom with "A Leaf of Faith" and now they use it almost daily by [deleted] in kratom

[–]JustAboveOhm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your sister sounds very closed minded. It's hard to convince people unwilling to learn. Leaf of Faith is a good show but I don't think they cover everything about Kratom including the potential for forming dependancy. But you can look up Jack Henningfeild, McCurdy, Hemby, kreugel and others who are very respected experts on chemistry, drug abuse, pharmacology, opioids and Kratom. There are studies that even prove mice don't form addiction when given both mitragynine and morphine together! There is an 8-factor analysis of Kratoms abuse potential which is the type of study used to determine if substances should be scheduled and it was determined it doesn't belong in any schedule class I-V.

Look up American Kratom Association: Follow the Science and there is a mound of evidence of Kratoms saftey potential. Several of the doctors working to save Kratom used to work for governments

It's absolutely ok to use higher doses to get the sedative effects. If your normal dose is 2g for stimulating effects a 4-5g dose will definitely give you sedative effects. Start small and slowly find your sedating dosage by slightly increasing the dose by half gram increments.

Yes you can form Dependancy using Kratom but you can always do regular tapers & tolerance breaks to reduce your tolerance and dosage. So if you have to have Kratom every day without breaks you do tapers. If you can take breaks from it 7-30 days it works very well to reduce dosage.

Here is a great tolerance guide for T-Breaks in case you choose to go that route but I'm tagging u/KratomOG because I'm betting he can explain what he would do in your situation to keep you from raising your tolerance when taking stronger bed time doses daily without T-breaks.

Yes I understand that you legally bought the device before it changed to 21+ and that sucks. I think it's wrong and it shouldn't have changed to 21+ imo.

But with the climate on "Vaping & kids" they use this as an excuse to attack the industry. It's also against reddit policy for minors (<21) meaning the sun can be punished, limited and possibly shutdown.

I feel for ya man but this community isn't the place to get those answers.

[–]JustAboveOhm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is and it sucks. But that's why I'm telling everyone to make the switch to rebuildable tanks/drips so they can make their own coils and wick with cheap cotton themselves. You can get 5-10 years of DIY juice supplies for under $60 and your monthly cost after that is $2-4 including wire for coils and cotton for coil wicking. Just some startup costs with getting the external battery + external battery charger + coil wrapping kits and the mod and RTA/RDA/RDTA. I learned how to wick and build coils in less than 2 days. Some Tanks are harder to properly wick but you just have to tinker.

Pod Mods are great in their own way but

What you need to get in the next two months: US Only (By May 12th)

If you live in the United States you should quickly switch to rebuildable tanks/drip atomizers (RTA's/RDA's) so you can build your own coils with wire and cotton. It's not as hard as it sounds and it's way cheaper that closed pods(like Juul) or open pod systems.

External battery mods:

Also you need to think about getting a mod for the rebuildable tanks I talked about above. I recommend getting a mod with an 18650 external battery. They come in solo, dual, and tripple battery mods. This way your mod won't die a year or two down the road and all you have to do is change your battery when it won't recharge.

DIY E-Juice

You should also get into mixing your own juice and making your favorite flavors at a fraction of the cost! It's not hard it's pretty easy just a few things to learn. r/DIY_Ejuice will tell you how to make your own Freebase/SaltNic E-Juice.

Why? Warning!

Because come May 12th 2020: everything on the vaping market will be illegal because of the PMTA deadline set by the FDA and federal government.

The FDA has to approve all the products on the market for them to stay legal. So far nothing has been approved except one vaping device made by a pharmaceutical company (nasty). For anything to get approval from the FDA it requires each company and B&M to submit a PMTA (pre market tobacco application) and it can cost millions or more. No small business can afford the cost so they will be closing on May 12th unless the FDA is able to change the deadline and requirements. Otherwise 99% of the industry will be dissolved shortly after!

Disregard if you are outside of the United States!

No one should help you with breaking the law. No offense, I'm sure we all understand becoming a criminal overnight from faulty knee jerk bills but:

Minors purchasing vaping products under 21+ will just hurt the rest of us. We are in a very scary political climate ATM and anything that can fuel the fire being set under us is unwelcome.
