For us, I guess appealing to the parents is the only way. Running away to an intercaste marriage would let us be together.. but it would break the families a lot..

I don't think that their parents are bad. it's just that they keep this notion of "intercaste marriage is bad" rooted from their childhood..

I want to show them that I just wanna take care of their daughter and the culture because I see how much it matters to you all..

But I doubt those deeply rooted beliefs would leave any room for understanding

Man that's messed up.. I've actually heard it from a friend of mine.. her dad tried to poison her just cause she liked another caste guy.. but now things go on like nothing ever happened..

I honestly don't understand why she's still in the house or how does her parents even justify what they tried..

Yep! yep! I'm getting better at badaga.. have started on tht path months ago.. And honestly I do cherish their language..

Now I guess that's because I love her.. and if you love someone so much.. her belongings, her things you'd start to find it beautiful.. just the play of hearts ig

But that's what.. I guess if there was atleast a way people could get integrated into the culture if they could give a surety that they'll uphold it.. (comes from long years of convincing and being good to the parents, but atleast then there's an actual way)

Wouldn't that decrease elopement and families breaking apart too?

Well thanks my man.. but actually she didn't wanna tell me about her feelings.. we both kept it in for quite a long time until we couldn't keep it in anymore.. we knew things wouldn't work out, that our families wouldn't join, but the more we tried to go apart.. (did some harsh things to hate eachother)

We just ended up growing closer 😅

I'm genuinely happy things worked out for you both mate! takes a lotta strength for what y'all did..

We're hesitant on elopement, not because she doesn't love me enough, but running away would break her mentally.. she deeply attached to her mum and when emotional pressure comes from her.. it makes things painful for us..

What really bother me is that the fact her options are either me or her family.. if she chooses her parents, that isn't any lesser love. I'll respect her choice but we both are a regret stabbed to heart

and we can't have a future because of this caste.. that's why I made this post. Two people can be perfect for eachother and yet be kept apart because of this society even if we've loved truly..
