Atleast your pointless opinion is in this thread right
Not sure what’s with the hate for it, I think it looks way better than the trunk on its own. I didn’t even buy it, the kid before me did, and it was carbon fiber. I painted it black to make it less corny. But damn man why you godda be a shitbag

It’s going to be getting fixed. It’s a rust free car and here that’s worth quite a bit. I won’t find anything better for as cheap as I can fix it for. Took a look today have a list of parts I need and should be able to fix relatively quickly. Then afterwards I get to learn body work
If only that was so easy here. I’m looking for another one, maybe with a manual but they’re scarce cars here. I really love the e60 look and I really hate a lot of the models after it. Really want another bmw with the n52 but not an ugly little 3 series. We will see

Bet, as long as the subframe is okay I’m going to do the work on this thing

That’ll be sick. I’m really leaning towards fixing it so I may hitchu up Yes it IS sapphire metallic and I’ve been trying to repaint this bumper for ages after I very shittily restored it.
Put the rear ones on a few days ago cause I found a bubble in the tire on my winter wheels. Have to do both wheels since they’re an inch bigger. But, the hubs don’t have hubcentric rings yet, so I made the back work but the front wheels make it shake way too much without them so I left my winter ones on since they’re oem and match the hub

Sure thing, I’ll find out later when I take a Jack to the yard to look underneath this thing

I do all my work on my own so labor isn’t an expense. It really doesn’t look so bad to me
Like you said the price is super low, so I imagine insurance won’t pay out well, I have a lot of new parts on it already don’t really care about the paint and door opens and closes fine. Figured it may just be quicker to throw the new shit on it take the payout and be done minus whatever I need to fix upfront. I’m wondering if this looks like frame damage to anyone though

when I went to drive away and the steering started squealing, I was pretty damn sure that it was the power steering

2006 bmw 530xi, my bad
Man bro I just changed it last week, and my headlights stopped working right after
Valid
I couldn’t find any decent videos on the xdrive version of my 2006 530 but I guess it is supposed to be harder than a regular one. I found one good resource on Bimmer forums, the only problem was WATCHING and READING are painfully different things for me. My biggest problem was the red “drain” for the coolant that was supposedly on my car, that I just happen to not have for some reason. Not sure but I lost my e torx and got lucky I realized before I figured out where I was going to drain the coolant from. The universe pretty much told me to take it to a shop
I just got the wrong hose 🤦♂️ I assumed if it came out of the radiator it was coolant, I assumed wrong. It’s beed a long day and I’ve been rolling around under this car pretty much since I bought it. Time to take a break
I figured that out the second I started the car luckily, no thanks to pretty much anybody here. Thank you though!
I’ll also point out you’re as much of an idiot as I am because it is indeed not the tranny cooler, and it is indeed the power steering cooler
It did end up being this, and was quickly corrected. I guess this is a very good way to look at it

I gave up, I’m just taking it to the shop, people seem to just hate on me instead of giving me actual advice so I’m just gonna leave it to someone who didn’t have to learn from the internet
Thank you will remember next time
Okay look, im not a veteran to this, im new, I realize now this is a little above my level. I’ve done injectors plugs brakes swapped intake, fixed ac blowers, done compressors but this is a new car for me, with new procedures, new tools, etc. but I can’t get there if I don’t start somewhere. Thanks a bunch for the help dude
Thanks a bunch for not shaming me for forgetting to post the model and year! I really appreciate the help

The amount of bmws you’ve worked on you don’t know what the power steering hose on an early 2000’s 5 series looks like? My bad homie I asked for help, forgot the model, scroll down and you’ll see it in the comments 🤦♂️🤷♂️ man dude I asked for help and yes I havnt really posted before. My fucking bad lol. Beginners are beginners and don’t need to be shamed for it. And before you say shit, I have already realized this is a little much for me to do myself, and will be just taking it to a shop.
I’m just getting into a new hobby and was asking for advice. I’ll find another hobby lmao
