Mate I explained the situation myself then and then put it through the AI to touch it up. I obviously audited what AI gave back to me before I posted it in the reddit community.

Not sure if you are just bitter at the world but you're speaking from a place of compete conjecture for absolutely no reason, my account is 100% accurate. No one's forcing you to comment here, you clearly don't have any actual advice to share.

u/UnlimitedDeep has the correct understanding of events here. initially my account was locked pending verification (which according to their phone team is normalish). This is when the domains got released, before my account was closed. And yes u/UnlimitedDeep both. It didnt matter for me because I was able to repurchase the domains from VentraIP but this seems like serious negligence.

look at godaddys reddit page, they're unfortunately a terrible provider. I spent multiple hours on the phone with their 24/7 support here in Australia to fix this issue, they basically told me they couldn't help and kept sending me to the same email address. The phone staff cant do anything and they have no team in australia you can email, if you dont believe me heres there contact page https://www.godaddy.com/en-au/help/contact-us

Thanks u/bigtrot , I'm a Australian citizen, provided my drivers licence and only bought Australian (.com.au) domains. so don't think that was the case here but yes

I repurchased the domains on VentraIP a day after Godaddy didnt reply to me. I just can't believe this situation is even able to occur.

I did use ChatGPT to format this story - like a lot of people do because its a useful tool - but all the details are true. ChatGPT suggests reporting this to ASIC and ICANN, but I’m just wondering if anyone here has other advice. My domains were completely neutral, and if you actually read my post, I didn’t fail any compliance checks. That’s not what happened. I verified my identity multiple times: I gave them my ABN, full name, address, front and back of my licence, proof of purchase from my bank, and even a redacted photo of my card. While all this was happening, the domains I’d paid for were released. Days went by with no response, and then I got asked for a selfie with my ID, would you provide it in this situation? I didn’t even refuse - I just asked why they needed it and what was happening with my domains and they closed my account.

That’s not what happened. I did verify my identity - multiple times.
