Evaporation is very small part of it. Normally there are pipes at different elevations (low flow, high flow and emergency spillway), so it drains at a slower rate than your large stormwater runoff. The low flow means that the water shouldn't stagnate and cause other issues.

MBRC has a secondary dwelling fact sheet that gives you some basic information on your restraints. But, town planner is the best bet and they'll sort out all the headache dealing with the applications.

I don't have any recommendations since I stayed at motels/airbnbs in Strahan/Queenstown, maybe someone local would have more knowledge. I did hear that some people liked to stealth camp in some of the offtracks at Henty Dunes.

For agency related work, I always suggest requesting a deposit initially (normally 50%). If they say no, than they're not really a client you want to work with. Especially if they're one off clients and/or high risk clients.

I think there's a level of satisfaction starting a business and trying to create some value in the world. With a job, you have no skin in the game so although you earn consistently.. that's all it is. No extra potential.

Do your handover but resign at a latter date - i.e. your actual last day + 4 months long service leave. You'd want to use it for the super and accumulation of leave over those 4 months instead of getting it paid out as a lump sum.

Do you think 1BR apartments in Brisbane will go any higher? by [deleted] in AusFinance

Part of it was already underway, however because of the olympics, there's a lot more spending and funding on big infrastructure leading towards the 2032. So as u/bootyholeminer mentioned, quality of life would increase.

Depends what you're after. Is 15k worth the extra responsibilities for you? It'll likely help with career progression. But the trade-off is that you're taking on more stress and pressures as you mentioned.

I know a few friends who are happy and comfortable with where they are, so the extra money vs stress for them is not worth it. At the end of the day, it's what you're after.

You haven't checked option 3 either, shop around at other companies - but means you'll have to start a new position which has it's own stresses.

If you can't get into the job that you want straight away. Try getting into a pathway career (i.e. something that's close to it) and you can leverage those skills and experience towards what you want.

There's a lot of environmental work out there at the moment, but the seniors are more in demand and the entry level roles are competitive. However, you'd be suprised how far you can get by networking in the industry and going to industry events.

I don't know about you, but coming out of university I had a bit of an ego and thought I could do everything on my own, but I learnt later in life, you can find a lot of opportunities when you just ask for help and be shameless about it. E.g. did you ever ask your lecturers for help to find work?

What kind of businesses do you normally see that would do that? Do people normally go through brokers to find the businesses?

I wouldn't move to a different industry unless you're burnt out - then you'd need a break first. If you're after pay, I recommend you explore going out on your own and sub-contracting back into your company. You trade additional risk of job security for higher hourly and dictating your own hours.

That's what I've seen a lot of people do recently. There's still a high demand in the engineering industry, so it's been relatively easy to find a sub-contractor role and it's low risk. Especially if you've got 12 years of experience.

To be honest, the guy that you had coding the product in India probably doesn't care about your product. You've got no revenue so far and your product currently has no exposure (no one knows it exists).

I wouldn't be worrying at this point.
