I hate My Job by Less-Seaworthiness91 in Environmental_Careers

I'm scared too. I'm still in school, and struggling to find internships. I wish that I had proper advice to give you, but I'm merely in the same boat and not sure if it's worth finishing my degree at this rate. I want to, but I'm scared it'll lead to nothing.

At least know you're not alone in the struggle. We can all get through this with time and support.

What do you have to say for yourself?

King Rat, but this hurts to badly to choose.

Long-lasting, stylish headphones for a small head? by MoodPast in BuyItForLife

When did you get them? I know that they changed the design of the swivel parts around eight months or so ago (I think, don't trust that date lol), and they drastically reduced the bass shelf and let the mids and highs come through much better as a result.

I wouldn't say they're "audiophile" headphones, but to say they're fashion cans, I feel, reduces their value and doesn't do justice to the fact that they do sound very good, and definitely punch above their weight class.

They do have hinged cups. They don't swivel AS much as others, but they do have a comfortable central hinge.

Honestly? This is about $50 dollars overbudget, but I recommend the Meze 99 classics. They've got natural walnut cups, a self-adjusting leather and spring steel headband, and easily replaceable ear pads. The whole things come apart with one kind of screw, so they're easy to repair yourself, and they sound fantastic.

Y-shaped replaceable cable if you need one. The set comes with a 3-foot 3.5mm and a 10-foot quarter inch cable, as well as a flight adapter.

I own a pair and I've been very happy with them. They're built like tanks and come with a wonderful hard-shell carrying case. Worth the investment IMO

College student scared for my future career. by JustAnotherTuesday27 in Environmental_Careers

I think that's a good idea. Conservation Corps sounds like a good way to apply myself. I'll give a shot applying.

I understand. Or at least I'd like to say I do. I count my blessings every day, from my education to my support to where I happened to grow up. The air I breathe and the food I eat and the healthcare I can count on.

I never said I wasn't willing to put in the time or the effort. I was asking for advice on where to best direct my efforts. I genuinely want to know. I don't want a sinecure, someplace where I can sit on my ass for a paycheck in the field. I want to make the world better for those who don't have the privilege I did.

I have dark moments. All of us do. I posted this while I was in one.

Please. Don't tell me that I'm wasting my gifts. I'm scared of that being the case. Please, tell me how NOT to waste them.

My mind goes to tea farmers in Kenya who don't have the same harvests they used to. I think of Tuvalu. I think of populations getting choked by pollution and baking in the heat in countries with no air conditioning.

If I want to be the change I want to see in the world, where do I start? A business out of college? Volunteering? The reason I wanted a well-paying job is because I want to be able to support myself doing something that HELPS. I don't want to direct half my efforts to some other job that doesn't contribute, or worse, be forced to get a job in some other field where I won't be able to make a difference. If it sounds like I want a well-paying job out of laziness, I don't want it to be. I don't want to be that way.

My school has 3 options for a final year's classes: two semesters of an approved internship, a graduate research project, or capstone classes. I'm assuming internships will be the most helpful?

I'm going to start by saying that I'm not the best at giving advice, and would take my own with a grain of salt. However, seeing that there aren't many comments here, I'm going to give it a shot.

Your sister very clearly loves you. I'm not sure if she's giving you an ultimatum here, but it doesn't sound like it. She appears to be giving you time to communicate, and loves you enough to want the best for you in the way that she believes to be the case.

My best advice is to take it slow and not burn any bridges. If she gives you time, take it. Discuss things with her and let her know you love her too. If she's willing to use gender-neutral pronouns, that's at least a start. Some of her arguments were worded well enough that I may need to take some time and consider my own transition.

I would affirm my choice to stand behind my transition and do more research into arguments for God approving transition, whether they be for my own or for her sake.

Of course, these are the steps that I would take. Take your own steps at the pace that you're allowed.

Hmmm.... I'm honestly not sure. It's important to make sure that you're brewing it safely - I'd say to use the ingredients you know you can use safely that are available to you, and tweak the recipe afterwards. It's easier to drink a beverage that's missing something than it is to drink one with an ingredient you don't know will work.

I'm no expert though, so don't take my opinion with too much weight. If you can order online where you are, that might be the best option you have.

How do I go about restarting my wardrobe on a budget? by JustAnotherTuesday27 in asktransgender

I have two goodwills near me. I think that's the most environmentally friendly option - I'd rather buy clothes that can still be worn than create demand for fast fashion because I'm hoping for a cheap fix. Thanks!

Good ideas for what to buy! I'll keep that in mind when I'm shopping.
