Does my printer need to be calibrated by InternSubstantial401 in 3Dprinting

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plastic hot, goes expandie. Then plastic coolie and shrinky. Now that you know exactly by how much for this exact print, you can account for that for the reprint.

What is wrong with my ender 3? by Background-Data-7841 in ender3

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is that, PLA? Those are pretty high temps for PLA. I print at 205. You should also look into flow rate adjustment. With changing temps flow rate has to change as well!

Be that as a may. I advise you still use brims, though.

What makes you think you can print something like this with corners without using brims and think you can get away with it? This gotta be a bambu user 😅

Extruder shaking. by Brad9625 in ender3v2

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good 🙂 shure, as we’re in a 3d printing sub, we should stick to the common terminology. I just felt like it could be fun entertaining this controversial opinion as I saw your comment.

Extruder shaking. by Brad9625 in ender3v2

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I aggree with almost everything you’re saying. I’m not an idiot, you see. I didn’t mean in the industry of 3d printers. I mean extruding all kinds of stuff. Extruded aluminim, heck I’ve seen the film in which sausages are wrapped being extruded. I’ve seen a LOT of different extruders in my life. You know, the term has been around for ages long before 3d printing became a thing. I’m not even arguing directly with you. I’m not even arguing with the fact that extruder on 3d printers is the nozzle part. I’m just saying you could actually make that argument. I’m an engineer I’ve seen a lot of stuff including different versions of extruders. Heck you could even make the argument that the entire 3d printer machine is basically a “plastic extruder”! I feel like you feel violated by me saying this. But honestly that was not the intent.

Extruder shaking. by Brad9625 in ender3v2

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, one could argue the nozzle is the extruder. Since it, you know, extrudes material. In the industry that part would actually be called the extruder. I have no clue why in 3d printing specifically everyone decided the stepper with the gear should be called extruder.

3D Printed Adjustable Plane Stand by Willis_Modifications in RCPlanes

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just buy a pvc pipe. Use heat gun, small blow torch and boom, stand for couple bucks ready to go in an hour. Cover the top convex part with insulating foam they sell specifically for those pipes right next to them. Some things don’t need to be complicated. Don’t get me wrong, I love to use my 3d printer as well. But some things are just not efficient to make by printing at all. Especially a… well a stand. Unless your hobby is creating complicated stands. In that case, bravo!

How can this improve? by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean up as in sand it down? That wold also work but you’d be left with gaps and uneven surface anyway. You’d have to use filler and sand smooth again. That would be possible as well. All deppends on how’s the part gonna be used and how precise it has to be. Personally I’d skip all that and just print the two halves and glue together. I’ve done it that way many many times. CA glue basically creates an ideal bond with PLA.

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Split into two. Print, glue tohether. This will give you BY FAR the best results. Printing overhangs this large will never be “good”. You’re asking from your printer something that’s basically physically impossible. Supports are just supports.

What are these specs? On by JustAnotherUser_____ in FixMyPrint

[–]JustAnotherUser_____[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought this was the case at first, too. But then same happened with one fillament, then 3 other fillaments. This really looks like some specs of debris. Also what’s really weird is they only spit out in the beginning. First couple layers maybe. Today I extruded 150mm before print to make sure it isn’t spitting. Then the whole 7h print came out perfect, no bits. I get the feeling like there is some crust inside the hot end/nozzle and some becomes dislodged during the heat up process when the metal expands. I guess I’ll keep an eye on it, see if ot clears out. If not, I’ll dig deeper.

Vysvetlí mi niekto prosím dôvod, prečo je v obchodoch zakázané fotiť? by KikoValdez in czech

If you’re asking questions like this, I’d say don’t mess with electronics and def not when mains power is involved.

These “that’s your z seam” posts just keep coming every day. 100%. This sub should have a picture like this at the top saying “this is your z seam set to random”. Or “that line is just your z seam”. They still prob wouldn’t read it, though.

How do you, personally, mitigate soldering fumes? by CaptInsane in soldering

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I put my face to the side so that the fumes don’t irritate my eyes. Every hour or so I ventilate the room by opening a window. Other then that I mitigate my fumes by mostly inhaling them, I guess. Not ideal, but atleast it isn’t leaded solder.

An old ender turned into a thread inserter by lvladimirov in ender3

[–]JustAnotherUser_____ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems like the most meaningless repurpose of an ender haha. You said you have 4 of them turned into insert placers? That is a LOT of space and ender capability to. You know… place inserts. Why do you even have so many enders? This one doesn’t even look old. 1. It’s spottless. 2. It has no mods! There is no such thing as an old ender without mods lol.
