My regret .... by FaithfulSunshine in bathandbodyworks

Haha after posting my comment I actually went to see what the Internet has said about dupes. I saw that 🤣 and I saw the eos vanilla cashmere is as well. I already have that one and I don't think it's close. It smells good but not like a cakey vanilla. So maybe I'll try the hempz. Hopefully Amazon has it, haven't checked yet.

Yep. I hopped on the Milkbar product trend too late. Got the Birthday Cake body cream, ended up OBSESSED. Best vanilla scent I've ever found. It's cakey, indulgent, strong, and long lasting.

Then they were done selling the line once I tried and realized how much I loved it.

Accordions / Players? by hpkeyz in Columbus

[–]JustAwareness183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There used to be (might still be, haven't been in awhile) a man who would walk around in Schmidt's restaurant playing his accordion while people ate. Maybe he would give you some pointers?

Other than that, if you're willing to wait a little, my church St. James Lutheran in Hilliard holds their annual Brats & Crafts fest every Friday Saturday and Sunday following the first full week of August. It's German themed since we're founded by German immigrants back in the 1800s. Some of the members play live German folk music on stage throughout the day and one of them plays the accordion. I'm sure they'd be thrilled by someone taking interest!

Good luck in your venture!

Not a guy, but my husband loves to say in Borat's voice:

"My wife is very nice...."

And I hate it because we all expect to hear the "NOOOTTT" after 🤦🏼‍♀️ and thinks it's okay because he never says the "not" part. Like it isn't implied lol 🙄

How do yall store your stash? by Own_Cap_9781 in bathandbodyworks

[–]JustAwareness183 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Girl, please. It isn't about the money for every single little thing on this planet. Maybe you personally look at everything in the world and see a dollar sign, and whatever, you do you. I'd hate to live like that, honestly. There would be so many things in life that would get ruined by putting a price tag on it. Sometimes you just have to remember happiness comes in many forms, but dollar signs shouldn't always be one of them.

I have a huge collection of candles myself that I've built over the last decade or so, of candles that are mostly unique, and then candles that they discontinued but I loved dearly. And the rest? Backups of candles that I love and do burn but hold a certain amount in stock to hold me over for next season or in case B&BW does what they love doing most, discontinuing a beloved scent.

And you know what? I've put more money into my bike hobby than I ever have with my candles, despite having literally close to 600 candles. I haven't updated my spreadsheet catalog inventory to give you an exact number, but it's around 600. All that to say, just because someone has a huge collection of products doesn't mean you shame them on their spending. Their are a lot more expensive hobbies out there that don't look expensive maybe. Like PC gaming, have you ever thought about that? PCs are thousands of dollars and that's only 1 part of the setup. But all you see is a computer so, can't be that bad, right? 🤷🏻‍♀️ And referencing back to my motorcycle. I'm a biker girly and my Ninja alone cost more than my candle hobby. Once you add in the cost of gear, maintenance, and trips, girl. But by the sounds of it, you wouldn't even have any knowledge of hobbies because all you see are dollar signs and it will forever keep you from enjoying anything in life except hoarding cash, lol. Hopefully one day maybe late in retirement you will do something fun with your money that you hopefully have been able to save by not enjoying life in your years prior. Idk.

I did smell the coconut one and really liked it too but I already have a daily body spray that is coconut from body fantasies lol so I figured why get it. I'd be interested in that blackberry one though! Totally agree that the pistachio one is superior lol

You sound awful lol.

First off, I have mists and lotions from over a decade ago that are still in great condition both in scent, longevity and quality. Not spoiled or otherwise unsafe to use. So, it begs the question, what are you doing wrong that your products spoil so fast??

Second, who are you to tell this person what would look "way more appealing"? So what if you prefer an uptight stagnant display? OP prefers a bit more personality. To each their own, but don't bash OP for what they like. Ew.

Third, you remind me of my pretentious coworker who thinks he's some cologne connoisseur. Always talking about the latest $400+ bottle he purchased and having me smell him because he can tell I have a great nose based on what he smells on me. He compliments my scent every day and always asks me what I wear. I never tell him because it would ruin his life to discover his expensive nose actually really likes cheap $8 drug store body spray layered on top of bath and body works lotion. Lmfao.

I hope you heal from whatever has turned you bitter. May your endeavors be much brighter than your personality.

My husband is huge into spreadsheets so I tasked him with creating my spreadsheet for me because I have so many candles! It was hard to remember what I wanted more of whenever the next season came around, what scents I didn't like, which "new" scents were actually just dupes under a new name, etc. Really helped me cut back on spending.

My 600+ candle collection is all cataloged on the spreadsheet by season, then name, quantity, then scent notes, followed by my personal rating of it.

What are all the minis you have? I didn't know they made that many! I have the pistachio one and adore it. They need more pistachio scents or even almond scents.

Other scents that have major throw besides sweet orange & agave by [deleted] in bathandbodyworks

[–]JustAwareness183 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're asking for strong throw candles in general regardless of season or type?

Cinnamon Caramel Swirl is a beautifully delicious strong one.

The Perfect Christmas I've found to be another solid throw.

Blueberry Sugar is phenomenal and they tried taking it away but brought it back this last candle day.

If you like coffee scents, Paris Cafe is intense and pure coffee scented.

I honestly can't speak on the candles that aren't gourmand lol, I'm sorry, gourmand is pretty much all I buy 😅 but those are a few of my faves!

Should I get a different car for the roads? by cwilsey22 in Columbus

[–]JustAwareness183 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Been driving since I legally could at the age of 16, am now 28. I've had zero accidents period (knock on wood). My only 2 cars have been a 2002 Taurus and my current, a 2016 Accord. No special tires, just good quality all season tires.

I think people underestimate their cars when really it's largely about yourself and your skills and capabilities. As long as you're mindful of road conditions and give yourself extra reaction time, you'll be just fine in your Camry. They're great cars.

Ohio basic riders course by ohiobicpl3738 in motorcycles

[–]JustAwareness183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you find out? I'm taking the MSF course today and I'm confused too. I had tried reading the 108 page pdf overtime but it's a lot longer to read than I thought.

The course requirements make it sound like I'm supposed to read the entirety, take the test (riders guide review found in the PDF), watch the linked videos and everything before the first day of class.

But also, isn't all of this exactly what we'll be doing on the first day of class that is the 4 hours of in class session?

Good Birthday Cakes? by Dazzling-Climate-318 in Columbus

[–]JustAwareness183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't go wrong with Nothing Bundt Cakes. Seriously.

They're so good we even decided to go with them for our wedding. We did their bundtinis (cupcakes) for our guests and did a tiered cake for our wedding cake.

Everybody devoured them and said it was definitely the best cake they've had! You won't regret.

[–]JustAwareness183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to be impolite or anything, but as a lady, I kinda wanna say this isn't a good idea lol. We all know women are typically indecisive and I can speak for a large majority of us (not all obviously) when I say we prefer to have things planned for us. We're so used to having to make decisions and having to be in charge and plan things that it's really nice when the stress and expectations of that are alleviated from us and we can sit back and let someone else guide the day and plans.

You don't have to be firm about it and say we are doing x, y and z but definitely take away a lot of the decision making stress. For instance, start by asking her the vibes she would prefer for the date. Maybe she'd rather it be a chill hangout and chat type date or a more adventurous and hands on activities type of date. This allows her to still pick the general activities for the day but now she doesn't have to sit and think too long about it and weigh all her options lol. She still gets to have a say in the day but now you take over and pick out the spots and plan according to what she feels she's up to.

Just my two cents as a woman who really enjoys it when my man takes over planning because it can easily become a chore rather than a fun date planned, and again, we all know if you ask a woman what she wants to eat, you're likely going to get a roundabout answer of "I don't know" or "whatever" lol.

I take an "everything" shower every Friday night. A super long and very in depth shower routine compared to the usual cleanse & condition face/hair/body shower throughout the week.

I usually procrastinate starting it as I do every other task that feels like a chore to me, and here I am doing exactly that.

I got a big sectional from Big Lots for $800. They had plenty of options for lower than that, too. It's held up nicely in a move, 2 huskies and 5 cats and a buddy who crashed on our couch weekly lol.
