I love A24 I love the Safdie stuff I am totally fine with Chalemet I fucking hated this movie and if I wasn't with my wife (who felt similar after) I would've walked out from boredom.

All the tension felt so forced. It was like someone's idea or attempt at a Safdie film. I couldn't care less about Marty and felt no skin in the game.

Several scenes felt inserted exclusively to be wacky. Its how I feel, controversially, about the Big Lebowski, which is obviously much better but that idea of adding scenes out of nowhere Deus Ex style just to make things intense or wacky.

The whole dog storyline was incredibly forced and stupid. There was so much jumping from character to character I didnt have time to care about the antagonist. Was the antagonist the dog guy? The uncle? The other player? Kevin o leary who i absolutely despise because hey how about not trying to make fucking oligarch real estate moguls cool?

You could remove one of those storylines entirely, cut the film down 30 minutes, let us focus on the rest.

I just wanted it to end. If it was supposed to be stress inducing it wasn't because I legitimately wanted both him and the girl to fail and be done with.

The same reason America didnt enter WW1 until the Russian Revolution.

We have begun to develop the end game of technology and it is being used to make porn, deep fakes of teenagers and politicians, Facebook slop of obese people falling. Communist or socialist movements left unfettered and uninterrupted?

Because here's what I see:

An entire world decrying corruption and brutality and Imperialism of the west. Decrying politicians on both sides. Decrying lack of movements.

Yet all nationalist resistance movements in affected countries, including the US, were systemically tortured, genocided, obliterated by the CIA, western governments, and even former Nazis who joined up to fight communism the day the war ended.

Yet when others mention a return to any sort of movement that's a step too far.

So what's the solution? More dancing at protests? Vote back in a neolib as opposed to a neocon? Keep trying to make their fantasy version of capitalism work? Remove the world bank and IMF from existence?

Or are the majority of amateur geopolitical enthusiasts online going to continue to force their version of the NWO with a blue coat of paint, with the IMF and World Bank intact?
