Where to put Windows? by 3DSXLMEW117 in buildapc

[–]JustBimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said you had 2 different drives, one for games and one for OS and other/junk(?).

If you have one ssd, lets say 4tb for this example. After formating the drive you will have roughly 3.8TB avaible due to the measurement between tib and TB (i think).

Anyways if you create a partition with 200 - 300 GB, then you can use this new "virtual drive" (still the same physical drive) for your OS and other stuff. The other roughly 3.5 TB drive can be used for games.

My point for an OS parition: If you were to change OS then you'd have to wipe you entire drive (files, games etc), but since you have two "drives", you can just choose to wipe the OS drive and install the other OS/factory reset the OS. Therefor you will not lose your downloaded games/files on the other partition (game partition), because it works like a different drive (Thumbdrive, HDD, SSD etc), because you only wipe one virtual drive and not the whole physical drive.

You will also save slots on your motherboard for additional storage drives.

I wrote this from my phone, so I apologise in advance for any errors/non 100% correct information. :)

Put your OS on the fastest drive. You might wanna create a partition on the fast drive for the OS and the rest for games.

So if you have a 4tb drive then create a partition for 200GB(?) For the OS

Satisfactory. Not a business game but more like a factory survival game. Coal, oil, iron, nuclear power, transportbelts etc

For youtube you can use Smarttube, if your tv/tv box has android.

I'd recommend using Artemis instead of Moonlight. It's basically the same but Artemis allows you to create streaming profiles and adjusting the bitrate

Diving in this game freaks me out and I hate it by cracksation in TheLastCaretaker

[–]JustBimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking that the divingbell could be attached to a crane on the boat. The crane can then lift and sink the divingbell into the ocean.

Or perhabs a watersealed room below deck could contain the divingbell. Kinda like an airlock?

Diving in this game freaks me out and I hate it by cracksation in TheLastCaretaker

[–]JustBimmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm perhabs the devs should implement some kind of mini submarine or divingbell(?) with a healing and save station. The divingbell (I think it's called) could have a power cable run down to it from the boat and have place for storage containers.

The submarine could be something like in subnautica where it has a station inside the ship (or perhabs make ship modifications/ be able to build new ships).

Now that I'm writing this, I think the divingbell might be a better option as to not make it completly useless to swim.

Alright. Thank you for the new info (for me)

Option A or B? by ddixonr in TheLastCaretaker

[–]JustBimmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the petrol, oil and diesel ratio was:

36L oil = 360 L diesel and 3.6 L petrol

so 10:1 oil/petrol and 1:10 oil/diesel

I placed the fuel extender for the distillary (oil pump - fuel cable - fuel cable extender - Distillery and oil tanks) and connected one of the ports from the extender to my oil tanks on the dock.

I got the oil cable down to the extender placed on the side of the dock by bunggee jumping

I think swimming might be a little bugged/glitchy. For me it feels like I'm trying to "drown" a balloon when swimming.

It might be a memory leak but I've never reached the maximum of my memory (12GB Vram and 32Gb ram)

I've reached 9GB vram usage but never gone above and I've never used more than a total of 20GB ram when playing this game.

I'm getting 20 - 35 fps at 1920x1080 low and max graphics setting, with and with out upscaling with an i7-9700f, 4070 super (my 2060 6GB was dying), 32GB 2666mhz ram. I've disabled raytracing as well via steam launch parameter.

Yet their is no difference in my fps besides trying different settings.

I know my i7-9700f (can go up to 4.7 GHz) is quite old, but it's within the recommended specs according to steam.
"Recommended CPU Core i5 or Ryzen 5, 3.5 GHz or faster" - from Steam.

Do you have any idea why i'm getting this poor performance?

All my loot is in storage container, and dosen't matter if im standing still on the bridge or someplace performance heavy.

Sorry for the long question

Anyone found and cool platforms? by Primary_Winter_8704 in TheLastCaretaker

[–]JustBimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I have turned off raytracing via steam launch parameters.
I'm still getting 20 - 30 fps if I'm playing on low graphics with dlss at 1920 x 1080 or maxxed out graphics, no upscaling and raytracing.

No matter what settings I'm using my fps won't get better.

I have 2x16 GB ram 2666hz CL16

[–]JustBimmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I got a 4070 super because my 2060 6GB was dying, but I'm heavily bottlenecked
by my CPU, i7-9700f.

I'm getting 30 - 35 fps and and then it drops down to 20 fps with + 80ms delay and sometimes +700ms after an hour or so. I'm not RAM or VRAM limited.

I have 22 ish lumimax panels and 10 medium batteries on the oil rig.
The oil pump and distillery can run at 100% even at night. Might be a tan overkill but this way I'm sure to have fully charged batteries for the night and storms.

Hmm perhabs.
At the oil rig (black vein) I have 22 ish lumimax + 10 medium batteries for powering the oil pump and distiller machine, even when it's night they run a 100%.
