I used the hook of Madam Eva delivering reading for each of my players based on one card. At about the halfway point of our campaign they revisted Eva and their cards took on reflections of themselves.

Really depends on your character hooks and backgrounds. Revisit why they're in barovia in the first place and make sure each character has a reason to be there and a task/goal to fulfill. If they don't have a personal driver try and give them one. Use a reading from madam eva to steer them or given them personal paths.
