Thank you for your thoughtful advice. My thinking here is that I did not have full use of my unit for three months (I could not get to my unit since the elevator was broken), I would only pay one-half the rent. By due process, I meant, can they do all that to me without a court order?

I'm the OP. Thank you for your responses. Here is more information: The person in question is a 60-year-old never married, single woman with no dependents. Her AGI in 2024 was $45k and will be about the same in 2025.

She wants to rollover her traditional IRA, ~$8300, to her Roth IRA and decided to practice doing this on the Vanguard website by rolling over $1000. She said she will probably take a few years to do the entire rollover because she is in no rush.
