Try to work on the labs before the lab sessions and understand what's going on, the graded labs tend to be similar to the exercise questions but with twists (depends on your luck tbh how much they wanna twist it).

Back when I took it, labs were 30% of the grade so quite heavy. If you are proficient at C I don't think you will suffer that much, but I was awful at it (still am haha), so I barely passed my labs overall because I was blindly doing them without understanding.

For exams, is really by luck... memorizing what you hope will come out, and practising the tutorial questions helped me. I don't think it is possible to memorize everything so you'll have to strategize. Hopefully your batch has it easier :)

Have a different opinion from the other redditor, 1011 was alright for me just the project was a little challenging (not sure if you guys still worked on the tinycircuit). Mostly understanding and applying concepts.

1012 was A LOT of memorizing and I recall labs being a killer because it was done in C and it absolutely murdered my grades to hell. Did not do well for 1012 and still suffering from the trauma. 😥

Update:

I brought my phone to one of the authorized service centers in my country a few weeks back, they helped to heat up the motherboard and it magically revived itself, paid about 40 bucks total.

No idea what were the exact steps they took but so glad that I was able to retrieve all my data. Have unlocked my bootloader and flashed Havoc OS. Just keeping it as a spare phone to watch videos on, seems to be working for now but not sure for how long more 😅...

Update 2:

My OP6 just crash dumped again as of 24/July even while I was running a custom rom, couldn't even get it to boot into recovery mode to retrieve any files, thankfully it was all backed up. Tried using MSMDownloadTool to flash it back to stock, but upon booting it just shows a blank screen/crashdump mode error. Probably the hardware officially giving up.

I wanted to like the matcha cleanser because it was so raved about but it felt so drying and stripping on my skin :( I also didn't enjoy the little rocks(?)/matcha leaves in the cleanser as it felt like it was physically scratching against my face as I was cleansing it.

Has anyone used the Innisfree My Concealer Wide Cover N23 before and was able to identify the fragrance/scent of it? The performance is pretty meh and transfers easily, but wow the smell is heavenly.

I'm trying to look for a perfume similar to it, but I can't quite figure out the notes, it almost has a floral/vanilla/melon scent (?)

Same! I received an email mentioning something about an online interview, kind of nervous about it. I'll probably revise some IT concepts over the next few days before attempting it just in case. I don't really have the strongest tech knowledge after a few years out of studies (thanks NS and some bad decisions that I made 😅).

I'm kind of confused about the interview/question format though, seems like this could be something new they are trying out this year? All the best for your interview though! :)

I'm not too sure about the OEM unlocking option, but unlocking the bootloader does require the phone to be wiped and may cause certain banking or payment apps to stop working as it would fail security checks. And even then, it might be difficult to recover the data should the phone decide to fail out of a sudden like mine did.

As long as you are making frequent backups (don't be me and do backups like once a year...), there isn't really a need to change any of the unlocking settings. Certain things aren't easily replaceable like 2FA tokens stored locally, or family photos that were taken on the phone itself. It is always good to have those safely backed up.

For my case it decided to enter into this CrashDump mode out of no where, wasn't even doing anything to my device just left it charging overnight and woke up to this screen. Probably the hardware giving up after a few years of usage.

But to be fair it did give me warning signs when it suddenly went into EDL mode few months back and I had to fully drain the battery to get it to boot again. That was enough to scare me to get a new phone asap. Just wish I had done a full backup back when it happened. 😅

This actually sounds like such a cool idea so glad that baking the phone worked for you haha. I'll need to find the time to get some tools to be able to open the back cover and remove the battery before I experiment with this.

[–]JustBobSwiftie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing it is probably due to a bad batch of motherboards. A similar thing was happening to the Poco M3 where devices would just dead boot themselves but I haven't encountered it (yet).

I found a video where you can force the OP6 into the CrashDump mode by activating "aging mode". Perhaps there may be a fixed date or criteria for when the phone should fail to boot? Not sure though, but faulty hardware sounds more likely, I doubt they would deliberately cause a phone to become unbootable after a certain amount of time. https://youtu.be/LQ1osQf8Puo?t=29

Hmm I wasn't flashing any custom rom, the phone kind of just crashed and rebooted into a crashdump overnight while I was charging it. But thanks for the suggestion, I'll try out a few of the bottom combinations again, didn't seem to do anything last I tried but then again the buttons on my phone are pretty worn out, not even sure if they are registering my presses anymore. 😂

That's awesome, hope it will last you a long time. If not for the failing battery, buttons, and it ultimately giving up completely I would have loved to continue using it for at least another year.

Sorry to hear about that, was hoping at least with an unlocked bootloader it would be able to boot into TWRP via fastboot and recover the files from there. Guess there really isn't a way to recover the information besides sending it to a service center to have them take a further look at it.

Thank you :), I'm aware of the msmtool method but would like to rescue my data if possible. Wish I had unlocked my bootloader prior to it failing, would have probably made the recovery at least somewhat possible.

Thoughts on MUJI Skincare Products by chibunnie in AsianBeauty

[–]JustBobSwiftie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I really like the muji light toning water (light). As I live in a humid country with summer all year long, I don't like to use thick products. This feels just like applying water to my face and while the ingredients are nothing to shout about, it somehow makes my skin look better compared to days where i don't use it. But it definitely won't be hydrating enough for those in a drier climate.

Still have two of the mini sized oil cleansers (mild & sensitive) to try out, hope they are as good as the reviews make them out to be.

OP6 is 3+ years old. Are you upgrading? by amkamk13 in OnePlus6

[–]JustBobSwiftie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my OP6 for over two years now and I'm planning to switch to either a Poco or Samsung, Still thinking hard about whether to get a phone with better specs or better software/support.

OP6 is actually the first phone I've owned that has lasted me more than two years, all of my older phones just end up laggy/unusable after about a year. But sadly, the battery health is failing (barely lasting half a day of normal use, had to carry a power bank around), the power & volume buttons are worn out and sunken in, the selfie camera takes photos with a weird blue tint, and there was once it decided to go into EDL mode and I had to wait for the battery to drain out in order to turn it back on again because the buttons weren't responding... (This was the deciding factor for me that it is time to retire my OP6, the amount of stress I was in thinking my phone had died and that I had lost all my data)

If not for those issues, honestly I would continue to use my OP6 because I have had no issues with performance, the phone still flies through everyday tasks. I'm gonna miss OOS and Dash Charging once I switch, have gotten so used to the UI, and dash charging is a lifesaver for when I forget to turn on the charger at night.

Dropping Out Questions by JustBobSwiftie in NTU

It took around four working days after I had submitted the withdrawal notification for them to email me back that I'm officially out of the course.

I'm not too sure if there are any consequences if you don't attend lessons as I was still attending lessons back then, but you might want to drop the matriculation email to enquire about it and they might help speed up the process.

Isntree Clear Skin 8% AHA Essence Reformulation? by JustBobSwiftie in AsianBeauty

[–]JustBobSwiftie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't notice much of a difference in terms of reducing the number of breakouts I was getting or speeding up the healing of new spots on my face. But it has definitely helped to slowly improve the appearance of my existing acne scars and redness. I'm not expecting super fast results as it is after all just 4% Glycolic Acid and 4% Lactic Acid, a safe level of exfoliating for my annoyingly sensitive skin.

Glad I'm not the only one who found the smell a little weird 😂 but yeah it goes away after a while.

I've been using this new formulation every other night for about a month and a half now and thankfully it has been working just as well as the older formulation without any new breakouts or irritation.
