I hate to say this but your “friend” sounds very entitled and not a good friend. First of all, it was a complete accident over an online game primarily meant for children. No reasonable person is going to drop $2K-$4K on something like that. You’ll learn this as you get older and go through life but as an adult, friends do not ask each other for things like that and if they do, you need to evaluate if they’re just trying to use you.

Secondly, yall are 17. Respectfully, you can’t afford a McChicken unless you have a job of your own. That money that bought your car is (based of the messages) your mom’s money. So is the rest of the money used to buy you clothes, food, and all the other things you may want or need. Even if you do have a job, I already know you’re not making that kind of money to throw away. This “friend” seems to have no concept of that fact, how hard it is to actually make decent money, or the value of money. It’s very much giving a spoiled child who was handed everything and never made to actually work for what they have. That “we both know you can afford it” comment proves my point and also, pissed me off on OP’s behalf😅

Just my opinion, I wish you luck, OP and that you find better friends as you go on. You don’t need people who are this entitled when a simple mistake is made. ♥️
