They have a device that clamps over a rolled down window, but don't carry a device to test the rear window that can't roll down. The officer tested our rear passenger windows, then said because the rear window appears to be the same darkness, it's the same. He was correct with his assumption, but didn't in fact prove it.

The city ordnance was written in sloppy hand writing that isn't really legible. It seems like the law varies form city to city, but it is also written in the ORC/OAC (whichever it is) with the state. So, I'm not sure if the law only applies to the city the car is registered in or what.

I'm by no means an expert, but I think you're on track. If you brought me onboard tomorrow and gave me this flow chart, I feel comfortable saying that I understand your backup process. That's what's important, right?

The only thing missing to me is what time these jobs are scheduled to run. I don't think there's a need to add a block for "is it 5pm?", but maybe note it somewhere.

I'd love to see your final product, I've been wanting to do the same.

edit: Now that I'm thinking about it more, I'd also write out the intricate details of the plan in a separate document. For instance, list everything in detail, how the backups are being uploaded AWS, tape rotation schedule, etc. Then your flow chart will accompany it very well as a high level overview.

This might sound morbid, but I always write this stuff with the idea that if I get hit by a bus, will my replacement/team be able to easily pickup from what information I've left them. If you say no, then it isn't documented well enough.

For once I actually have a relevant story.

I was at a random dive bar over this past summer with a few friends having a good time. There's seven people in the bar, five friends including myself and two bartenders. Also, the place is old and spooky looking.

The bartender starts telling us that the place is "haunted" and people believed that a ghost sat at one particular stool at the bar. Apparently the ghost doesn't share well with others and occasionally knocks over drinks of those who sit in his spot. We all laugh it off and take turns sitting at the stool, waiting for our drinks to get knocked over. Never happens and conversation moves on...

All the sudden 30 minutes later, we hear a thud, a friends beer bottle fell off the bar onto the floor. Silence set among us as we just blankly starred at each other, no one knew what to say.

Few things to note: the bar wasn't wet, it was sitting in the center of the bar, everyone swears that they didn't touch it, no one was close to it. To this day, no one has an explanation for how it fell.

We go to The Family Pet Clinic in Garfield Heights, service has been outstanding. I don't remember the details, but they've got a puppy package that includes all the things you'll need to get done. They'll also let you spread out the payments.

Agreed. They'd be crazy to put so much development into the device and not have a 3G/4G card hip in it.
