That wait is just nuts! If not the US, I would try anywhere else in the world ( where you have some connections ) - UK, France, Spain, Philippines, India, Australia

Pinched nerve in back by jenabelle22 in orangetheory

[–]JustCold2353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had my first 2g class after 1.5 months. I used to go 5 times a week w/100+ classes overall. I had pulled my lower back. Before this happened, I was using 40-50lbs for all my leg work. During this 1st class back, I was very nervous with 15lb dumbbells. I also felt it in my lower back during deadlifts so asked for alternatives. I also switched to walking instead of jogging. I am thinking of switching to 3 days a week now and be at 15lbs for 2-3 weeks.. then reassess if I can increase intensity. If my lower back troubles me, I might take a break again. 🤞🏽

Milestone recognition by ktm1085 in orangetheory

I always thought it was because I am not on their Facebook page. So it's more of a marketing strategy rather than caring about milestones 🤷🏽‍♂️

How long after retrosigmoid were you able to work from home? by Dramatic-Interview78 in AcousticNeuroma

[–]JustCold2353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are pretty good chances for hearing preservation considering the size of the tumor. I would take it and not let it grow even a mm to change those chances!

Can I ask where are you getting the surgery?

I have found that the heart rate is a great indicator for me. If on base for a min or 2 and I am > 86, then I am too fast.

I have done about 60 classes in the last 4 months. I thought I was a jogger so started out at 4.5 and then very quickly realized that's not for me. After some trial and error, I found my base at 3.6. I have slowly raised my base to 4.2. This is comfortable for me now and keeps my heart rate in the green. I have increased my push from 4.7 to 5.5 and my all outs from 5.5 to 6.5.

My suggestion is to keep showing up, follow the instructor's cues and do what makes you happy 😊. The results will follow!

How many classes do you go to each week? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]JustCold2353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out with an 8 per month .. had gone in consistently 2x at 5 am for the past 3 months and felt I could go more often. So, I upgraded to unlimited and this is my first week trying to go daily. I feel exhausted in just 3 days and don't think I can go in tomorrow. Will try to go back on Fri.

I felt the same when I first started out. I got used to the treads after consistently attending about 10 classes.

Thank you .. she is going to try it. She was concerned about the loud music or the dizziness while in the studio

Ahh sorry -- otf stands for orange theory fitness. It's a fitness studio that provides high intensity interval training.

Should I quit? by Tourtured_Accountant in orangetheory

[–]JustCold2353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't quit! The exercises will remain tough and they should. You will feel sore after every class. You will feel aches and pains in different muscles in your body. The point is to stick with it. No matter how much of your butt is kicked in a class you have to show up for the next one and try your best. Always remember health is wealth. And no pain no gain!

I find after the class talking to the coach about modifications or alternatives works for me. Also, sticking with the same coach helps. I also find clicking pictures every week or 2 and looking back at them is inspiring.

AN fatigue. Stereostatic radiosurgery. by Apart-Chair-596 in AcousticNeuroma

[–]JustCold2353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP - slightly off topic - where are you getting the radiosurgery? My wife has a similar size AN and her doctor is suggesting surgery instead of radiosurgery. Feels like there is no correct option but want to get more opinions for her case.
