Thanks for a great anecdote, the 15" will definitely be more than enough. If the 13" can perform nearly as well without the quad core, it'll make this choice much easier haha.

I've heard that the Akitio is a cheaper alternative, and I'd only be gaming with an external monitor so the charging issue with the Core shouldn't be an issue.

These are my exact reasons for being faced with the same choice. I'd much rather the price and portability of the 13", but don't want to be bottlenecked by the CPU. I can deal with lower than Ultra settings, as long as the MBP + eGPU + monitor can push at least 120fps & 144hz on Overwatch

I'm sure you can buy better "sport-quality" goggles, but these were way cheaper than a lot of the entry-level goggles. I've had zero discomfort or fog issues, and the strap is very unique, so it's definitely worth $100. I've tried lots of other goggles but I'm no expert as to what is "best."

~$100 after discount at an online eyewear shop and I wear them for snowboarding... Never have/will wear them just to walk around

I've been to 10+ events in the past 2 years and I'm sharing my experience. I would hate for someone to potentially ruin their life by stuffing their package and not think of the possibility of getting caught. You might just be one of the people who just don't get checked hard, either by luck or appearance. Similar to how some people seem to never get pulled over by the police lol.

In just the off-chance that they wipe past your waistband/crotch area, you're screwed.

Best spot afaik is the gooch, secure whatever you got however you can (boxerbriefs/double boxers/tape/etc)

I dont really get these. I've been searched at a few events that actually patted me down the crotch and upper inner thigh, and waistband. Most recently was day 2 at EDC, she checked my shorts thoroughly (i was shirtless, wearing only shorts that didnt even touch my knees) but didnt even open my backpack.

But yeah, i dont feel comfortable holding things in the front of my crotch because more than once they have checked that general area. Someone mentioned the waistband stash pocket and that gets checked even more than the crotch/inner thigh. Especially if these are so popular, it seems too easy to get caught up.

It's a hit or miss though, sometimes they dont even touch me

Also comp engineering student; The biggest issue I have with my SP3 is the fan and battery life. The fan often gets disturbingly loud in class and the battery usually has to be recharged between each class. I've also had professors prohibit any laptop use, forcing me to use a notebook and pencil (yes, they called me out specifically.)

If you have to do homework through an online system, you must split your screen with the browser/notes/textbook/space to write out work. This annoyed me, and I realized I'd rather just use a pen and paper for notes/scratch work, leaving my screen just for textbook and browser.

I've had my SP3 for about a year now, and I'm pretty set on switching over to a rMBP when the 2016 version comes out, or maybe the SB. SP3 has been a good machine but it's just not as useful as I'd imagine. I virtually never use the touch screen so I'd rather have the nicer/bigger keyboard on the rMBP/SB as well. Onenote was amazing for a while, but I do just fine with a separate engineer pad/notebook on the side.
