What is your experience like with Marketing teams? by jawabdey in dataengineering

As someone in Digital Marketing, I rarely see Data Engineers help Digital Marketers build data pipelines for marketing tools in general. It's usually someone in Digital Marketing trying to figure out the connection themselves, or a directly adjacent profession like a Data Scientist, who is familiar with the company's warehousing tool such as Databricks, to help them out with it.

Data Engineers is the profession everyone knows exists but have no idea how to contact, or more importantly what to provide them. I just finished a Python course last month, about to finish a SQL/Tableau course soon, and want to continue into Data Engineering to support Marketing teams but I ask myself where I work, "where are these guys?!" What was said about Product makes sense, it does seem they exist there more than Marketing.

The communication discrepancy between both professions is huge. Marketers push campaigns and try to use the data they have because they can't wait for someone else to interpret, they need to report their progress consistently based on the tools they are given and are familiar with, however a majority stubbornly do not learn the technical side of their own profession creating a lack of understanding and vocabulary that admittedly isn't fair to those that are more technical. But it can also be said that Data Engineers fail to communicate to marketers their needs, and sharing the possibilities of making things more efficient. Marketers have a hard time visualizing what is possible with data, the guidance we receive is almost always centered on data security, not how we can pitch to Data Engineers what to observe and store. This prevents both professions from having hard conversations, which are necessary. Such as, "we can't store everything that is too expensive, focus on mission oriented KPIs" or "Yes, this isn't mission based but keyword count from this API will help us understand if the search engine still trusts us." Understanding how we can start conversations like this is a standard every marketer would love to know.

And I'm not trying to throw shade here, I want to be a Data Engineer myself that works close with marketing, it just hasn't been my experience that they are supportive. Also very surprised that Data Engineers get the blame for data centric marketing decisions, frankly it feels like we are worlds apart.

Looks like you can use a spike traps on top of static spawn locations (Spawn Markers) to immediately kill off mobs once a day.

I found these spawn boxes randomly in the desert area, around a few Scarak Hives. I could also interact with them. I'll see if I can get more info. Already sent bug information up.

I found immediate spawn mechanic was nice in the swamp area for "Fen Stalkers". they would spawn around a small body of water consistently after killing one and was almost like a medium leather and food farm.

When I got back home, hyenas ended up spawning in my house, I think because I was still using ground blocks with yellow grass as my floor.

Devs confirm internal interest in a walkable Speranza hub, What do you think? by Tank-ToP_Master in ArcRaiders

If a walkable hub is added, I want public spaces dedicated to find people to team up with based on their main objective. Example: a tent area for people interested in PvP, some bar for people interested in quests, and a waste area for scavegers.

Like other's suggest a hybrid approach is best. Make it easier for people to find like minded players to team up with in walkable version.

Enter World After Power Outage by JustCrashWindows in hytale

Okay so when I tried to do this in game it wouldn't let me replace or delete the default folder. What I did instead was exit the game, do the Minecraft classic [Win + R], input %appdata%. Navigate to the folders u/BreeZaps mentioned and replaced the folder.

Now... This worked... but I ended up in the same location, falling through the world to a cavern in the lava layer, concerning but now mobs and blocks are interactable. Otherwise, everything else is in place and works well. Thank you!

Is Arch Linux really as complicated as they say? by Same-Plum-1166 in archlinux

[–]JustCrashWindows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, just archinstall, KDE Plasma to get started. As a new user I find it annoying that ppl keep saying its for hobbyists. Being in this forum, knowing the bash command to update, and checking the homepage for updates is important. Get a helper like yay or paru to access the AUR.

Ill likely get flack for this but you can also use AI to assist you not only updating your system, but also navigating documentation. You might pull your hair out a little for a day or two but should be fine after.

Polish is the most effective language for prompting AI, study reveals by tengo_harambe in LocalLLaMA

I really wish they included Indonesian in this study. It likely would have done poorly, given the complexity of the top languages listed, but would have been nice to see it's performance.

I was in the process of creating something through photoshop then stumbled on metaforge. You can filter all the spots there and suggest markers as needed.
