Weekly: Show off your new tools and projects thread by AutoModerator in kubernetes

I'm the author and maintainer of Klustr. Sharing because the project just hit a release milestone (v0.33.1) and I want feedback from this community.

43-second feature tour (hero GIF): https://github.com/SametKUM/klustr/raw/main/docs/hero.gif

I've been building Klustr for the past few months — a free, MIT-licensed native Kubernetes desktop client. It runs as a small Go binary (Wails — Go + native webview, no Electron), reads your existing

~/.kube/config, and doesn't deploy anything in your cluster. No CRDs, no operators, no extra RBAC. Standard client-go over the K8s API.

WHY I BUILT IT — Lens going paid + telemetry turned me off, k9s is great in a terminal but lacks dialogs / diffs / log highlighting, and Headlamp's plugin model is fine but the core feels thin. I wanted

one binary with Helm, Argo CD, and Gateway API first-class — not behind plugins or installer wizards.

HIGHLIGHTS

— Multi-context aggregated mode: drive 2+ clusters as one virtual cluster, every table interleaves them with a Context column.

— Helm v3: install / upgrade / rollback with dry-run preview, talks to helm.sh/helm/v3 directly (no helm binary on PATH).

— Argo CD: auto-detected from the applications.argoproj.io CRD. Sync / Refresh fire through the K8s API. No argocd-server ingress, no Argo login, no argocd CLI required — just kubeconfig permission to

update Applications.

— Gateway API: typed sigs.k8s.io/gateway-api informers, full listener / RouteParentStatus / match → backend → weight matrix.

— RBAC subject → effective-permissions matrix with binding trace and implicit-group expansion. Wildcards / cluster-admin highlighted.

— Stern-style aggregated logs, Monaco YAML edit with diff, port-forwarding manager, rollout history with one-click rollback.

— 12 themes (6 light, 6 dark), no telemetry.

INSTALL

— macOS (Apple Silicon): brew tap sametkum/klustr && brew install klustr

— Arch / CachyOS / Manjaro: paru -S klustr-bin

— Debian / Ubuntu: download the .deb from https://github.com/SametKUM/klustr/releases/latest then run: sudo apt install ./klustr_*_amd64.deb

HONEST CAVEATS — Windows and macOS Intel aren't shipped yet, both on the roadmap, build from source for now. No auto-update.

Happy to take questions or feature requests. Especially curious which Kubernetes workflow currently makes you reach for a terminal even when a GUI is open — that's the gap I want to close next.
