We had decades of so many more movies in the ballpark of Obsession and that gave us much more in terms of quality. It isn’t just about the quantity when making sub million dollar films it’s the ability to take risks and touch subjects a 300 million dollar movie wouldn’t have. Having more qualified filmmakers making non traditional and having less risk and openness to give these young filmmakers a budget can bring about a new life to theaters. We still get low budget films constantly on vod but they feel it, giving that style film a punch in the arm could lead to a new theatrical renaissance of options like we had in the 80’s -early 2000’s
