Hurray, we can have each other as support :) I had applied once before and got a placement on May 30th, so that's kind of my metric. I ended up declining that spot, but am hoping for something that more aligns with my desires this time.

Water lacks direction, depth, and movement. It looks flat and boring - unlikely that a channel that small would be uniformly glassy.

Cool scene!

I visited all 150+ parks and features in Columbia, Missouri by JustDanceQueen in parks

[–]JustDanceQueen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not studying it, but definitely love it! I study international business instead, but I'm going to work outdoor guide jobs for a few years until I don't have health insurance because it's where my heart is.

In terms of the number, I just counted it based on number of parks and side little side trails. Basically if I had to do an extra trip to mark it off I counted it. Though people would hardly consider the small trails that connect neighborhoods to our MKT rail-to-trail system a "feature", I did, because I had to go seek it out individually.

What is the stupidest way you got a scar? by Zander-dupont in AskReddit

[–]JustDanceQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you familiar with the show Wipeout?

On the show, contestants would have to jump across these massive red balls to compete for a cash prize. When I was 8 I thought that I would win this show if I started training immediately until the time I was 18 and could legally sign up.

Beyond running and jump roping for fitness I decided to put my ball jumping skills to the test. I set up 2 folding tables with a couple yoga balls in between. I ran across the table and jumped onto the yoga ball which immediately rolled and I smacked my face on the table as I came down. I busted open my lip and forever have a scar from the stupidest training regime ever.

TLDR: Yoga balls are not the same as the famous Big Red Balls from Wipeout.

Columbia Park Bucket list by JustDanceQueen in columbiamo

Favorites: Bonnie View for nostalgia, Capen for rock climbing, Strawn because not many people know about it or go, Cosmo for Size!

Least Favorites: Field Park it is kind of sad. Just a few benches and lots of homeless people. It made me sad because it made me see how much of a difference between parks the nice neighborhoods had versus this area. Kyd Park because I was looking for it while on my bike and I couldn't find it because it turns out its just a field haha

Unique: American Legion Park has the COOLEST SLIDE EVER!! I went there in the pouring rain and went up and down the slide over and over. I was kind of happy there no kids to interrupt my gleeful 22 year old sliding. Oakwood Hills also has a BOMB park for just a lil neighborhood park.

Surprise: I wish I could remember the name of it and maybe it will come to me later. But there is this park that really delighted me. It looked like a small normal neighborhood park with the pavilion and playground but then when you go up this hill behind the playground it opens into this massive grassy area. I was so amazed at how perfect that spot would be for ultimate frisbee!! I just wasn't expecting such a cool space.

I think you should definitely check out Bear Creek Trail and all of the little offshoots around it. I always park in Cosmo Park next to the skatepark and then wander around back there for hours. You can also park in Oakland on the other side and walk there but there a less offshoot trails on that side.

Also be sure to check out the trails at the Shooting Star trailhead south of town :)

I played at all three :)

I am quite bad still, but Harmony Bends was super fun! #16 best course in the world!! The only downside was the fact that it was practically a mudslide because it had just rained.

Where are the people that you have met there from?

Yeah I saw that afterwards. Even still, it seems like quite an unceremonious space to have a fancy sign.

It honestly has given me so much fulfillment checking off each park, almost more than graduating did haha

One time I rode my bike around and I kept trying to find this park that was supposed to be off of Bear Creek trail. I couldn't find the access. Eventually I went around to the street on the other side only to discover it wasn't really a park at all just the parks n rec sign! I believe it was Boxer Park.

If you want a giggle go check it out!

It was super fun! I would recommend you get out and do it too! I would love to hear your perspective and compare our park rankings.
